IBM Debug for z/OS 15.0 enhancements IBM Debug for z/OS provides advanced debugging of composite applications for your z/OS environments. IBM Debug for z/OS 15.0 delivers the following enhancements: • Eclipse 4.8 support. The IBM Debug for z/OS 15.0 Eclipse client is built on an Eclipse Photon 4.8 base to enable integration with IBM Explorer for z/OS Aqua 3.2 and other Eclipse 4.8 features and plug-ins. • New code coverage capabilities. Developers want to be confident that test automation covers the changes that they have made to the program. Tests are only effective if they test the areas of the program that are modified. Code coverage enables you to measure test effectiveness to help ensure that quality is built-in to your changes. Code coverage improvements in version 15.0 include: – Code coverage for PL/I programs that are compiled with LISTVIEW(SOURCE). PL/I developers can now see code coverage for code in include files. This gives code coverage results in context, versus having to correlate code coverage results between the program source and individual include files. – Simplified parameters for headless code coverage collection. Headless code coverage now supports single letter parameters to help simplify invocation through the use of the command line or the startup key in Job Control Language (JCL). – Headless code coverage is now packaged in IBM Debug for z/OS. – IBM Debug for z/OS can now run headless code coverage through the use of ccstart, ccstop, and codecov scripts.
