Practice and Refine Your Mental Edge Together with Niels Feijen! The Practice and refine your mental edge together with Niels Feijen! The Swedish Billiard Federation can now offer the course in mental training developed by world class player Neils Feijen to all our members at a really good price. Don’t miss this opportunity to sharpen your mental game with the help of a real pro! Mental strength is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle to become a really good billiard player. Without mental edge you miss the crucial shots in a tournament, you fold under pressure and you lose focus during a long practice session. It is therefore strange that mental training is such a small part of our billiard culture. To have a head for winning is often seen as something that you either have or not, nothing that you could practice at or exercise to get better. Maybe everyone doesn’t have the capacity to win the World Championships, but everyone can get better at handling mental stress. The goal of the Swedish Billiard Federation is to broaden the game, so that it attracts more members over a longer period of time. The fact that we are not a very physical sport appeals to many, but we must get better at promoting the advantages of training one’s logical capability. The intellect, together with coordination and precision, is a very important key to understand the greatness of billiards, and if we can integrate the mental aspect naturally on all levels of training and competition, billiards as a sport will benefit tremendously. Therefore, we are very happy to present a top-class course in mental training, in cooperation with one of the world’s best pool players, Niels Feijen from the Netherlands. The course is NOT pool or billiard specific, as it focuses on general techniques to sharpen your mental edge in competition situations. Others who have signed up for the course already include dart players, soccer players and carom players, as well as elite pool players Fedor Gorst and Margaret Fefilova. Other pool players don’t really need a presentation of Niels, as he has been part of the world elite for over 20 years. Among his merits are 5 European Championships gold medals and 1 World Championships gold medal in straight pool, a World Championships gold medal in 9-ball, two World Pool Masters victories, and many other big titles. Niels is known as one of the toughest players to meet in a match, thanks to his intense presence and focused energy at the table, as well as his nerves of steel. It is not a coincidence that he has been elected Most Valuable Player four times in the Mosconi Cup, a competition whose explosive atmosphere demands an extreme discipline and mental strength to be able to perform under the highest pressure. Niels has now gathered all his experience and competence into a comprehensive course comprised of 33 sessions, where you get to learn all you need to know about mental edge. The course consists of video clips divided into four chapters, and you also get a workbook for exercises and goal setting. You take the course online, in your own tempo, and after completion you will have a 30-minute Skype-session with Niels where you can ask questions and get feedback on your results. You can watch a short promotion video and find more information about the course here: https://terminator-college.com/p/the-mental-edge Niels has also released a free instruction video on how to create a structure and setting goals for your game. You can watch it here: https://terminator-college.com/ For those of our members who are interested in taking this course, the federation together with Niels can now offer the following. Regular price for the course is $469 (approx 4500 SEK according to conversion rate 2020-07-20). If your club purchases two courses, they will receive 20 % discount on the regular price If your club purchases three courses, they will receive 30 % discount on the regular price If your club purchases four courses or more, they will receive 40 % discount on the regular price For those clubs who purchases five courses or more, there will also be included a 1-hour Skype- session with Niels, where the whole club can take part. For players who wants to buy the course outside their club, or if their club don’t have the possibility to purchase it, we offer 15 % discount on the regular price. We recommend the clubs to contact your local SISU district to ask them about the possibility to get funding for this purchase, as it should be seen as education and/or training for your members. The federation also plans to offer this course for free to all players in our national teams. If this applies to you, contact your committee for more information. The course is personal and cannot be transferred to someone else. Here is how you order it: We will send the same information we have posted here in an e-mail to all the clubs. The clubs then ask their members to submit their interest in buying the course. Only members who are registered in IdrottOnline can make a purchase , and it’s the clubs’ responsibility to check this before ordering. The clubs collect the orders and send a list of their members to [email protected]. The deadline is August 31. The list should contain the name and e-mail addresses of the interested members. We will then send an individual discount code to each person, to be used at the time of purchase. The course will be delivered electronically to your e-mail. If you have any questions or enquiries about the course you are welcome to contact Niels directly at [email protected]. We hope that as many of you as possible will take this unique opportunity to develop and strengthen your mental game, side by side with your regular game. A strong psyche gives you an important advantage in many situations at the table, and it should be an obvious part of your practice to become a complete billiards player. .

EPBF Press Officer Clercst. 2 Mobile: +49 (0) 151 23 555 139 6441 CT Brunssum Email: [email protected] Netherlands Press Release Drago defeats Peach Dynamic German Open down to 32 players Friday, 26 August 2011: In an exciting matchup, Tony Drago (MLT) defeated Daryl Peach (GBR) with 8:6. The complete match was determined by many mistakes from both players. Peach had the better start, gaining a quick 3:0 lead over Drago who tried for a long time to keep pace with Peach. The advantage of Peach was two racks minimum during the whole time of the match. At a score of 6:3, Peach had the chance to get on the hill "The Tornado" Tony Drago (MLT) but he missed a relatively easy 5-ball. Drago thanked for the invitation Foto: EPBF/AMM and ran the balls, making the score 4:6. That was one of two major mistakes from Peach. The second one he committed when he was leading 6:5. He then missed an easy 8-ball and went back to his table completely frustrated. Drago again benefitted from his mistake and tied the match at 6:6. In the 13th rack, both players were very careful and preferred to play safety shots. It was Tony Drago who won the safety battle and started pocketing balls. But he unexpectedly missed the 3-ball. However, the balls on the table were not in favour of Peach. He scratched with the cue ball when he tried to play a safety shot on the 7-ball.

Living Legends Challenge ike Sigel and Earl Strickland, without a doubt, are “living legends”. Although both players are Hall -of-Famers, Earl has been competing and practicing regularly while Mike has only practiced for this contest. As we all know, both Earl Mand Mike like to talk to anyone who will listen and that’s what they did. Both players were mic’d and were free to express themselves without limitations. The show was the chatter. Clearly Earl looked in form as Sigel struggled. Earl competes and practices regularly while Mike tried to get ready for this challenge match and it showed as Earl dominated the 8-Ball match. The 10-Ball match started out similarly, but a Strickland skid on game ball changed things including a swelling confidence from Sigel. It ended up a squeaker as Mike tied it up at 7-7 yet Earl closed it out at 8-7. Again, the player’s mic’d made it a blast. Straight Pool was the game that all thought Mike had his best chance at turning the tables on Earl.

Contact: Mike Panozzo United States Billiard Media Association 312-341-1110 [email protected] Rob Johnson Billiard Congress of America 303-243-5070 [email protected] FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Germany’s Thorsten Hohmann Elected to Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame Superior, Colo., July 12, 2021 — The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) Hall of Fame will welcome a three-time world champion and the winningest straight-pool player of a generation to the Hall of Fame class of 2021. The United States Media Association (USBMA) today announced that German-born Thorsten Hohmann has earned induction into the sport’s most prestigious club. Hohmann, who will turn 42 on July 14, narrowly edged Philippines star Dennis Orcullo in voting and will enter the Greatest Players wing of the BCA Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Oct. 29, at the Norfolk Sheraton Waterside Hotel in Norfolk, Va., in conjunction with the 2021 International Open. In addition to Hohmann, the 2021 BCA Hall of Fame Banquet will also feature the formal induction ceremony for women’s world champion Kelly Fisher. Fisher was elected to the hall in 2020, but no ceremony was held due to COVID-19 restrictions. “You’re pranking me, right?,” Hohmann said when informed of his election. The response was not unexpected from Hohmann, who despite his impressive resume has been routinely passed over in conversations about the best players of his generation. “The past 10 years I haven’t been as visible,” Hohmann admitted. “I know that when the question of who the greatest players are my name doesn’t come up immediately.
