Bu yiyecek ve içeceklerin hangi durumlarda helal ve hangi durumlarda haram sayıldığı araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca yiyecek kurallarına uygun olarak hangi hayvanların kurban olarak kesilebileceği, hangilerinin kesilemeyeceği de araştırmamızda yer almaktadır. Çalışmamızda sofra kurallarına uygun olarak etli ve sütlü yiyeceklerin aynı sofrada yenilip içilmemesi hakkında da bilgi bulunmaktadır. Yahudi beslenme kuralları gereği bayram sofralarında hangi tür yiyecek ve içeceklerin kutlama aracı olarak kullanılması hakkında ayrıntılı bilgi vermekteyiz. Diğer taraftan Yahudilikte birtakım hububat ve meyvelerin kutsal olma özelliği de vardır ki, araştırmamızda bununla ilgili de ayrıntılar belirtilmektedir. The cases in which these food and beverages are considered halal or haram have been investigated. Besides, our study deals with the issue of which animals can or can not be sacrificed in accordance with eating rules. In our study, there is also such information that in accordance with table manners the meals containing meat and milk can not be eaten on the same table. Moreover, we have given detailed information on what kind of meals and drinks are being used on tables as a means of celebration under eating rules in Judaism. Apart from that, In Judaism some cereals and fruits have the distinction of being holy, details of which have been reported in our study. Diğerleri her şeyi yiyebilir.” Midraş, Leviticus Rabbah 13/2 Tanrı insanlara hayatlarını sürdürebilmeleri için yeryüzündeki nimetleri sunmuştur. İnsan hayatını devam ettirebilmesi için yeme ve içme gibi zaruri bir eyleme tabidir. Bu eylemin çeşitli dinlerde belirli kurallara uygun olarak yapılması gerekmektedir. Yiyecek ve içeceklerle ilgili her dinin kendi kuralları bulunmaktadır. Bu bağlamda insan, hayatını devam ettirebilmesi için mensup olduğu dinin kuralları gereği emir ve yasaklara uymak zorundadır. Bizim ele aldığımız konu da ilahi dinlerden biri olan Yahudilikte yiyecek ve içeceklerle ilgilidir. Türkiye’de Yahudilikle ilgili çeşitli çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Gerek Yahudi tarihi, gerekse de genel anlamda Yahudi gelenekleri ile ilgili birçok çalışma mevcuttur. Fakat beslenme kuralları ile ilgili kapsamlı çalışma sadece Doç. Dr. Sami Kılıç tarafından yapılmıştır. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada onun “İlahi Dinlerde Yiyecek ve İçecekler” adlı kitabından önemli ölçüde yararlanılmıştır. Ayrıca çalışmamızda Türkçe kaynakların yanında Rusça kaynaklardan da yararlandık. Çalışmamız giriş, iki bölüm, sonuç ve eklerden oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında helal ve haram kavramları, kaşerut kavramı geniş olarak ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada kaşerut kurallarının Yahudiler için ne kadar önem arz ettiği vurgulanmaktadır. Aynı zamanda kaşerut kuralları ile ilgili şehita kesim kurallarından etin kandan arındırılmasına kadar her şeyi en ufak ayrıntısına kadar belirtmeye çalıştık. Bunları da küçük alt başlıklar şeklinde derleyerek, bu konularla ilgili daha sonra yapılacak olan çalışmalara küçük çapta da olsa bir katkı sağlamayı hedefledik. Çalışmamızın birinci bölümü Yahudilikte helal sayılan yiyecek ve içecekleri kapsamaktadır. Bu ilk bölümde, girişte olduğu gibi, Yahudi geleneğinde helal sayılan bütün yiyecek ve içecekleri ayrıntılı olarak ele aldık. Burada yenmesine izin verilen kara ve deniz hayvanlarını, kuşları, aynı zamanda böcekleri geniş olarak ele aldık. Hangi hayvanların kurban olarak sunulabileceğini ve hangilerinin avlanabileceğini de konumuza v dâhil ettik. İlk bölümün ikinci kısmını helal sayılan içecekler oluşturmaktadır. Yahudilikte içilmesine izin verilen hayvansal ve bitkisel içecekleri araştırarak onların Yahudi günlük ve dini hayatında taşıdığı önemi belirtmeye çalıştık. İkinci bölümde Yahudilikte haram kabul edilen yiyecek ve içecekleri ele aldık. Bu bölümün ilk kısmına Tevrat’ta geçen ilk yasakla başladık. Daha sonra domuz eti, deve eti, yırtıcı hayvanlar, küçük kara hayvanları gibi yenmesine izin verilmeyen, haram sayılan hayvanlarla devam ettik. Yahudilikte haram sayılan yiyeceklerin özelliklerinin helal sayılan yiyeceklerin özelliklerinden daha ayrıntılı ve daha geniş olduğunu gördük. Belirtmek gerekir ki, Yahudi geleneği yemek konusunda çok geniş kısıtlamalar getirmiştir. Hatta bu kısıtlayıcı kurallar içinde bazı ilgi çekici yasak ve cezalar da bulunmaktadır ki, çalışmada bunlar ayrıntılı şekilde ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünün ikinci kısmında haram sayılan hayvansal ve bitkisel içeceklere yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca helal sayılan içeceklerin hangi durumlarda ve hangi günlerde içilmemesi gerektiği de belirtilmiştir. İster Tevrat’taki ayetlerden alıntılar yaparak, ister diğer kaynakları kullanarak yaptığımız bu çalışmada, konu ile ilgili ayetlerden de örnekler verilmiştir. Bu örnekler mukayeseli şekilde dipnotlarda belirtilmiştir. Ayrıca çalışmada tefsirlerden yararlanarak konuyu imkânlar ölçüsünde incelemeye gayret ettik. Genel bir değerlendirme ile çalışmaya son verdik. Bu çalışmada yardımı dokunan bütün hocalarıma teşekkür ediyorum. The return of Jewish converts to their religion of origin was a relatively frequent occurrence in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, but those charged with this crime, especially Jews from Lwów accused of persuading the neophytes to return, were not usually treated as harshly as Filipowicz. The exceptionally harsh sentence given to the rabbis responsible for the return of Filipowicz to Judaism resulted from the judges’ belief in the existence of a ritual of dechristianization, a special blasphemy against Christianity. The relationship of the courts and the Church in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to the problem of apos- tasy among converts from Judaism is addressed. The penitential practices described in the court documents are similar to those described by the inquisitor Bernard Gui in the fourteenth century and to the ritual of dechristianization described by Jan Serafi nowicz, the most famous eighteenth century convert.     JULIUS PREUSS by FRED ROSNER* THE OLDEST known Hebrew medical writing is that of Asaph which dates from the seventh century.' Since the ancient Hebrews left us no specific medical texts, our only sources of knowledge on this subject are the medical and hygienic references found in the Jewish sacred, historical, and legal literatures.2 It is from these that the fragments of our knowledge of their medical views and practices have been gathered. The difficulty has been great, for the material is scant and its meaning often uncertain; the period which these sources cover is very long. Much of the material is "popular medicine"; most, if not all, was transmitted by laymen. The first systematic studies of the medicine of the Bible were published early in the seventeenth century, among the first fruits of the study of the Bible awakened by the Reformation. The earlier books dealt only with the Old and the New Testaments (with the single exception of the dissertation of Gintzburger of 1743). It was not until the nineteenth century that studies included the Talmud and other ancient Hebraic writings.3 The literature that has grown up during the past three centuries is very extensive; much of it deals with special subjects; much embraces studies limited to single works such as the Talmud. As would be expected, these studies reflect the scientific spirit of their period, the uncritical or the critical attitude of the Biblical scholars, and the current views on medicine. The skin lesions seen in psoriasis may vary in severity from minor localized patches to complete body coverage. The disease affects 2–4% of the general population. There are five main types of psoriasis: plaque, guttate, inverse, pustular, and erythrodermic. Plaque psoriasis is the most common form and typically manifests as red and white scaly patches on the top layer of the skin. Skin cells rapidly accumulate at these plaque sites and create a silvery-white appearance. Plaques frequently occur on the skin of the elbows and knees, but can affect any area, including the scalp, palms of hands and soles of feet, and genitals. In contrast to eczema, psoriasis is more likely to be found on the outer side of the joint. Fingernails and toenails are frequently affected (psoriatic nail dystrophy) and can be seen as an isolated sign. Inflammation of the joints in the Psoriasis 2 context of psoriatic disease, known as psoriatic arthritis, affects up to 30% of individuals with psoriasis.

Judaism is a monotheistic religion, with its main inspiration being based on or found in the Tanakh which has been explored in later texts, such as the Talmud. Judaism is considered to be the expression of the covenantal relationship God established with B’nei Yisrael. Judaism is not a homogenous religion, and embraces a number of streams and views. Today, Rabbinic Judaism is the most numerous stream, and holds that God revealed his laws and commandments to Moses. Today, the largest Jewish religious movements are Orthodox Judaism, Conservative/Masorti Judaism and Reform/Progressive Judaism. A major source of difference between these groups is their approach to Jewish law. Orthodox Judaism maintains that the Torah and Jewish law are divine in origin, eternal and unalterable, and that they should be strictly followed. Conservative and Reform Judaism are more liberal, with Conservative Judaism generally promoting a more “traditional” interpretation of Judaism’s requirements than Reform Judaism. A typical Reform position is that Jewish law should be viewed as a set of general guidelines rather than as a set of restrictions and obligations whose observance is required of all Jews.
