® DENNIS SAMMUT

Dennis Sammut, who with an insatiable appetite for big game hunting and long-range shooting, developed the Horus Vision® system, collecting a large number of the Great Beasts of Africa and around the world. During this time, Dennis realized the need for a system specifically designed to take the GUESSWORK out of “where-to-hold”, any place, any time, and under any environmental conditions. Dennis has personally field-tested this system over the past 10 years in the harsh conditions of the Australian Outback-taking a minimum of 2000 feral animals from 300 to l800 yards and has accomplished “hits” on material targets to 2000 yards. If you are seeking Ultimate Accuracy on targets at any range, under any environmental conditions...YOU NEED HORUS VISION®!

WHY YOU NEED HORUS VISION®

Message from the President If you are a hunter, target/competition or a / shooter in need of a system removing all guesswork of “where-to- hold”, and enabling you to make target “hits” at any range . . . under any condition . . . with any rifle and any ammunition – Horus is your answer. Horus Vision® Aiming System is the leading-edge technology – the world’s most advanced Aiming System offered in this millennium . . . the most significant shooting development in optics in the past 50 years. We at Horus Vision® appreciate your interest in our products. We are a dynamic company that strives to constantly improve our products and are proud to present technical materials that represent considerable advancement over anything on the market today. Horus Vision® is a quantum leap in long and mid range shooting technology. Our Complete Targeting System has become more user friendly and exponentially more accurate by enhancing our ATRAG software programs, reticle designs, and scope quality. We are dedicated to providing the rifleman with tools to yield the highest probability of first round hits from point blank to extended ranges. Our Targeting System has simplified the art of long range shooting so that the average rifleman can learn our proprietary system in a very short period of time. For the extreme long-range rifleman engaging targets beyond 2000 yards, Horus Vision® has developed and proofed the ATRAGMP Targeting Software. This program takes into account all meteorological, spin drift, Magun and coriolis factors. A visit to our web site at www.horusvision.com will offer demonstrations of our technology, trial samples of our software and a complete set of our manuals. Please remember that Horus Vision® products and technology are fully protected by patents and copyrights.

DEVELOPMENT The Horus Reticle was initially developed for cull hunting of feral animals at extended ranges in the “Out Back” of Australia. After hunting in this area for a number of years, it became evident that no matter how much we improved our shooting skills, current scope technology limited us to shots of no more than 300 meters with the assurance of one shot kills. FIRST RETICLE: The first reticle design was drawn on the kitchen table of a cattle station in the Northern Territory of Australia. Subsequent designs and changes were based on actual field use. Simply put, designed in the field, modified in the field, for field use. The first reticles were strictly designed to dispatch animals at extended ranges with accurate first round hits for our own personal use. Later these primary designs were modified, standardized and simplified with the rifleman in mind. All improvements to the design have been thoroughly tested and then modified, if necessary, the result of six years of continuous testing in the Australian Outback.

Ranges were developed utilizing a steel tape and measuring precise increments of 100 yards out to 1500 yards and placing hard targets at various points on this range. Each target was then engaged using the Horus Aiming System for establishing distance . . . shot and checked for accuracy and duplicity. Termite mounds were ranged with electronic range finders and shot using the technology employed in the Horus Aiming System. TESTING THE SYSTEM LOGIC: The accuracy of the program tables were tested by using the 50KM road leading from the Main (such as it is) highway to the Station. A known size target was placed along the side of this road and balloons were tied to rocks and laid in the center of the road to serve as targets. We would proceed up the road in the Range Rovers, stopping at various intervals to range the known target utilizing the Horus Reticle Range Grid and then engage the balloons. By having these targets positioned in the roadbed, the spotter could see the bullet strikes should the target be missed. Using this technique, we found that most of our algorithm tables were precisely accurate until we reached the 1000 yard distance. Thereafter, the mathematical tables had to be adjusted slightly in order to achieve hits with consistency beyond 1000 yards. THE ULTIMATE TEST: Only after we had thoroughly tested the modified systems did we take them to the field for use on “soft targets”. It was on these soft targets that the real worth of the Horus Aiming System is fully realized. Being able to strike moving soft targets proved to be the ultimate test.

TESTIMONY FROM A PRAIRIE DOG HUNTER: Five Prairie Dog Hunts in 16 months, 14 thousand empty casings has changed my varmint shooting. Shoot a Dog Town quiet, and targets exist at long ranges only. OR ANY OF THE CUSTOM RETICLES PRODUCED BY LEUPOLD AND Whether you are lobbing paintballs at 40 yards or reaching beyond 2500 yards with boat tail bullets, Davis’s calculations will put you on target STEPHENS, BURRIS, PENTEX, SWAROVSKI, ETC. WE HAVE DEVELOPED WORKS WITH EVERY SCOPE ON THE PLANET! with the first shot. OUR 1ST HIT SOFTWARE, MIL DOT PRO AND TARGETING SOLUTIONS. ATRAG takes into account all the factors of bullet flight: air density, bullet characteristics (weight, shape, drag), relations to the rifle, target specifics, WHO WROTE THE PROGRAMS? etc. . . to produce accurate results. We constantly test our own software and have shot 17 inch groups at 2400 meters with our test rifles and WILLIAM C. DAVIS AND TRAG1S5 ammunition. Wm. C. Mr. Davis was the Engineering Project Manager for Colt ATRAG2P – ADVANCED TARGETING SOFTWARE Firearms Division of Colt Industries for many years before retiring to publish an extensive list of books and periodicals. Going beyond basic shooting, your calculations needs become more dependent on accurate information. The 2P version adds Assist Screens to help give more accurate ranging, target speed, and muzzle velocity. We also recognize that an advanced shooter will likely own more than one rifle and switches often enough where reentering the gun specifics History of Development become limiting. Therefore, we allow the storage of multiple rifle/loads for easy switching. For instance you are shooting a 30 caliber rifle, but switching between supersonic and sub-sonic rounds. Horus’ TRAG software is applicable for any scope, any rifle, and any ammunition in all conditions, at any elevation and will get you on target no matter the range with ONE SHOT CONFIDENCE

“ATRAG1P” Features: When you first run ATRAG1P, the first screen you will see is the Start Up screen. You will notice that sample data has been included for all of the parameters that affect the accuracy of your shot.

Note the small down arrow (or triangle) next to the “Quit” button. By tapping on it you will be informed of the 3 options for viewing your aiming solutions. TMOA (True ® Minute of Angle), HORUS (Aiming Point on the Horus Reticle) and CLICKs (for all conventional scopes).

CONVENTIONAL (Clicking) SCOPES: Set up for the number of clicks for your scope: Your Leupold, Burris, Ziess, Schmidt and Bender, Swarovski, Nikon, Bausch & Lomb, Bushnell, etc. scopes will serve you better with the Horus ATRAG1P System. When you select “Clicks” you are given the option of selecting how many Clicks your scope needs to adjust for one true minute of angle. Your scope manual will indicate what this number is. Horus allows for a maximum of 8 clicks per TMOA. Just tap on the number next to Clicks to select the number needed for your scope and then tap on “Done”. ®

THREE MAJOR SEGMENTS OF DATA: There are three major segments of data that determine an accurate aiming solution: 1. Data regarding your rifle and ammunition 2. Atmospheric conditions ® 3. Target

DATA REGARDING YOUR RIFLE AND AMMUNITION: Tapping on the GUN section on your screen will reveal data entry fields. By tapping on the appropriate number field on the bottom of the screen the highlighted area will be modified. Once modified, tap on “Next” and the next area will be highlighted. After you have answered all of the questions, tap “Done” to return to the main screen. ®

The five segments of information are: • Bore Height – the distance from the center of your bore and the center of your objective lense • Bullet Weight (grains) • C1 Coefficient, the decimal number provided by your ammunition manufacture which indicates “drag” • Muzzle Velocity (the result you attained by test firing your ammunition in your rifle)* • Zero Range (the precise number of yards or meters at which you zeroed your rifle with this ammunition). * If you don’t have a chronograph, this can be calculated!

ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS: There are two choices for data entry in this area. “AT” and “TBH”

Tapping on “AT” will reveal data segments for Altitude and Temperature. ® For most shots out to 500 yards (or meters) this is sufficient data.

Tapping on “TBH” will reveal data segments for Temperature, Barometric Pressure and Relative Humidity. This feature is recommended for more precise shots in excess of 500 yards (or meters)!

TARGET: When you have a target in sight, the critical data about wind, uphill/downhill, distance and target speed is necessary.

Tapping on “Target” will reveal data screens for these elements. As before, data is ® inserted by use of the number table at the bottom of the screen for the data field highlighted. When finished with one field, tapping on “Next” will highlight the next screen. Tapping “Done” will return you to the Home screen. Note that if only one data element changes, it is not necessary to reenter all of the other data elements. Simply tap on the field that needs changing, insert the new data and then press “Done”. ® FOR SCOPES OTHER THAN “HORUS”

“COME UPS” Once “Target” data is entered, when in the “Clicks” mode, the bottom of the screen will give you the exact number of elevation and windage clicks necessary to adjust your scope from Zero to the range of the target. “Rel” = Required Elevation.

NEW TARGET: Observance of a new target simply necessitates entering the new target range on the ® “Target” screen. When this is done and the “Done” button it tapped, the Home screen will note the exact number of clicks in both windage and elevation necessary to go from the first target to the second target. Simply adjust your scope for the indicated number of clicks (up ® or down, left or right) noted in “Rel” to set your scope to the new target’s range. You need not record your zero or the number of clicks input on your scope as ATRAG remembers where you were. To go back to Zero, simply enter your Zero range and ATRAG will note the necessary adjustments in “Rel” to set your scope on your primary Zero. Note that “Cur” is your current settings and “Abs” is the absolute total “Clicks” for your new target.

DATA SAFETY: Because ATRAG is fully contained on a data chip, all data is preserved so loss of battery power will not destroy your historical data. Your data is permanently “burned” into this chip and once you replace your batteries, simply reinsert the chip ® into your PDA and ATRAG will reappear unhampered.

ATRAG2P ENHANCEMENTS: In addition to the features noted above for ATRAG1P, ATRAG2P offers the following enhancements:

RANGE CARD: When you have adjusted your data for your first target (up from your primary zero) by tapping on the upper left hand corner of your Home screen noted as “Range ® Card” ATRAG2P will show you all of the adjustments from your primary Zero to any range out to the maximum range you have entered in the “Setup” screen for the Range Card. You can copy this data to a Range Card and paste it on the butt of your ® rifle for quick reference.

RANGE CARD SET UP: When you tap on the “Range Card” tab you will be given a choice between “Setup” and “Main”. By tapping on “Setup”, ATRAG2P will give you three fields to enter your choices into:

Start Range (your Primary Zero) End Range (Maximum range of your rifle) Increment (number of yards or meters between each increment you wish to see on your range card)

MILDOT RANGE FINDER: For shooter experienced with the U.S.M.C. Mil Dots, ATRAG2P provides a Mil Dot Range Finder screen, which allows you to use HORUS to range various targets using this technique. ®

MULTIPLE RIFLE HISTORY: ATRAG2P maintains Multiple Rifle and/or Ammunition history, which allows you to enter data for each rifle, or ammunition you use. You must treat each variation as a new item following all of the above procedures, but once you have done so, all of this data will be at your fingertips when you use that particular or bullet.

HEAT VERSUS MUZZLE VELOCITY: ATRAG2P adds a table that automatically adjusts your bullet’s velocity to allow for “New” ATRAGMP for extreme increases in ambient temperature. Ammunition performs differently at different ranges of 1500 yards + temperatures and this table allows you to automatically adjust for this factor without ® calculate coriolis, spin drift having to enter any additional information. When time and conditions do not allow the opportunity to properly determine the range of a target, the Horus Reticle increases the probability of a first round “Snap Shot” hit by complimenting the trained rifleman’s visual estimate of range to the target. The Horus Reticle simply allows the rifleman to “Bracket” the target so the bullet will strike the target at a variety of ranges.

The variable power spotting scope is a valuable tool for the forward observer, designated marksman, sniper, artillery and tank crews. While primarily used for observation, a Spotting Scope with the Patented Horus Vision® Reticle can be used to make target “strike” adjustments with precision. This variable power unit has the following benefits: At the higher powers, the observer can see greater detail, define smaller objects, and use the Horus Vision® H-36™ reticle to spot shots on target. The higher powers work best in colder weather or in the cooler temperatures of early morning hours. As the daytime temperatures rise, the spotting scope at these higher powers will encounter the distortions of mirage and temperature waves unless the spotter is positioned SCOPE SHOWN IS above these conditions. As a result, the usefulness at the highest power AN EXAMPLE ONLY – is diminished. OTHER SCOPES ARE At Mid to Low Power, the observer enjoys a greater field of view ALSO AVAILABLE and therefore can observe a much larger area of activity. At these lower powers, the effect of mirage and temperature waves is reduced, therefore, as the temperatures rise increasing the mirage factor, by simply reducing power, these conditions become manageable and the target can still be observed. The Spotting Scope, 12-40X60, or similar power range Optic is fitted with the new Horus H-36™ Reticle®. This reticle is calibrated in Mil Radians. A Mil Radian in this optic subtends to 3.6 inches at 100 yards or 10 cm at 100 Meters. This reticle was designed for observation, spotting for the primary shooter, and calling the “Second Shot Correction”™ necessary should the first shot miss the target. H-36™ The Ranging Reticle above A LETTER FROM THE FIELD... is in inches, the one below is in mil radian. “_____ is assigned the OPFOR mission at ______, Crucial to our success is our recon teams. We use dismounted recon as our primary intel assets because of their concealability and small signature. Because they are dismonunted they are very choosy on what equipment they bring on missions. One piece of gear that is a ‘must’ is the Horus Vision® spotting scope. These have been useful in numerous ways. As an optical device they are excellent. The long range spotting ability of the scope is a great improvement over standard for identifying and classifying long range targets (sometimes over 15km away). The fact that they are light, compact, and rugged (with their own padded nylon case attached) makes them a good piece of gear for our scouts. The mil scale reticle is also useful for getting range determinations. Until we received the LP-10 artillery spotting optics we were completely dependent on the Horus Vision® scopes for range calculations at observed targets. If something was spotted out in the open desert, and its location could not be determined by terrain association, we would use the scope’s mil scale system. Scout teams carried size measurement lists of common military equipment. Once something was spotted the scouts would calculate the mil size of the object, then compare it with the equipment size chart. That would give a rough estimate of range. Combine this with a known observer location and a compass azimuth to the target, and you have a location to the observed object. We also used the spotting scopes in their intended roles while out on the tang gunnery ranges. When screening the tanks main armament the Horus system could give very accurate measurements of target hits in relation to center mass on the 1500m screening targets.” H-34™ MAJ ______, Executive Officer The Reticle is calibrated in MOA for “Clicking” Scopes.

HORUS VISION® H-36™ RETICLE The Horus Vision® H-36™Reticle is a highly calibrated reticle and is installed in the internal optics of the spotting scope. It is a powerful tool in both range estimation and “2nd Shot Correction”©. The Reticle is located in the First Focal Plane of the scope, therefore calibration and accuracy are unaffected by power changes even though the reticle appears to change size. The Range Finder is a built in feature which eliminates the need to carry another piece of range finding equipment such as Laser Range Finders. This means less equipment to carry and to ‘fumble with’… equipment subject to breakdowns, low battery problems, etc. Additionally, Laser Range Finders may reveal themselves to the target by an optical signature which will result in less than optimal consequences for the rifleman. Range Finding with the Horus Vision® H-36™ Reticle requires no batteries and no working parts subject to failure. There are two ‘Grids’ on the Horus Vision® H-36™ Reticle…(A) the Mil Radian Grid in the lower center of the optical view and (B) the Backward Inverted ‘L’. .

HORUS STEREO OPTIC NIGHT VISION A patented mounting system that enables night vision target engagement at the full range of the Horus Optical Fire Control System. This system utilizes the Stereo Optical capabilities of the Shooter functioning much like a pair of binoculars does by overlaying that seen by each eye into one picture for target engagement. The vision seen by the right eye (for a right handed shooter) is the Horus Reticle. This image is over layed onto the target as seen by the left eye looking through a PVS-14 mounted next to the Optic mounted on the rifle. This enables the shooter to hold on the appropriate ‘hold-over’ line as noted on the Horus Reticle positioned on the the target as seen through the night vision device. With the Horus Stereo Optic Night Vision device, the shooter is able to engage targets at a much greater distances than looking through a rear or front mounted night vision device. Additionally, this system allows the shooter to use his normal shooting position and ‘stock weld’ when setting up the shot.
