He is the 15th head coach in program history. Prior to his arrival at St. Lawrence, Brekke has served as an associate head coach and assistant coach at the Division I level for the past 20 years. Brekke spent the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach at Clarkson Universi- ty where he helped the Golden Knights finish with a record of 26-11-2, win the ECAC Championship, and advance to the NCAA Tournament. Before that he had spent a decade as assistant and then associate head coah at Miami University in Ohio where he helped the RedHawks make back-to-back Frozen Four appearances, six NCAA Tournament appearances, win two regular season conference championships and two playoff conference championships. Prior to his time at Miami, Brekke spent nine years as an assistant coach at Cornell University helping them to a Frozen Four appearance, four NCAA Tournament appearances and two ECAC Championships. Assistant Coach Tommy Hill Hill spent the 2018-19 season as an assistant coach at Holy Cross after spending the previous five years as the Director of Hockey Operations at Miami University in Ohio where he worked alongside Coach Brekke as part of the RedHawks staff. Hill was also a volunteer assistant coach for Miami during the 2012-13 season prior to moving to Hockey Operations.

In 2018-19 with the Crusaders, Hill served as the co-recruiting coordinator and was also in charge of academic and compliance coordination, as well as team video and pre-scouts.

A 2012 graduate of Ferris State University, Hill captained the Bulldogs’ NCAA runner-up team during the 2011-12 season. He was a two-time recipient of the team’s Most Competitive Award, and was also the Most Improved Player in 2009-10. He obtained a Master’s degree in Sports Studies from Miami University in 2015.

Assistant Coach Ben Murphy Prior to joining the Saints, Murphy spent 10 seasons as an assistant coach at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. As the recruiting coordinator for the Falcons, Murphy recruited the pro- gram’s first NHL Draft pick, seven of Bentley’s 100-plus career points scorers, to the leader in all major goaltending statistical categories, and the all-time leading scorer for defensemen in Bentley history. Murphy also helped Bentley to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in program history in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

Prior to his time at Bentley, Murphy was a graduate assistant coach at Division III Castleton and also served as an assistant coach with the Wichita Thunder.

He graduated from the University of Maine in 2005, where he helped the Black Bears to NCAA Tour- nament appearances all four seasons and played in two national championship games in 2002 and 2005. He went on to play professionally in Wichita for the 2005-06 season.
