Violent Femmes coming to Southern Maryland

Alternative rock band the will perform live at the Calvert Marine Museum’s PNC Waterside Pavilion on Friday, July 3. The Femmes first showed the world that they can rock when their band stormed the charts in the ‘80’s with hits like “,” “Kiss Off,” “,” “,” and so many more.

This will be the Femmes first and only appearance in the DC/Baltimore area in over 20 years, so don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. They will perform with Colin Hay and Barenaked Ladies on The Last Summer on Earth Tour at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons! The Violent Femmes’ first album Violent Femmes became the band's biggest-selling album and was eventually certified platinum. The album also became the first and only album in Billboard history to enter the charts as a platinum album, eight years after its release. The Femmes went on to become one of the most successful bands of the 1980s, selling over 9 million albums by 2005 and became a mainstay of festivals, clubs, and theaters worldwide. Today, songs made famous by the Violent Femmes are heard in every aspect of contemporary culture. The band released a four-track EP, Happy New Year, on April 18, 2015, featuring “Love Love Love Love Love” as the first single.

Proceeds from the Waterside Concert Series support the education and preservation efforts of the Calvert Marine Museum.
