Joseph O’Brien’s charge won his only previous start over yesterday’s course and distance of 7f at the Curragh in early August and was supplemented for yesterday’s Gr.1 contest. The race lost a little of its lustre when the Gr.2 winner Thunder Moon (Zoffany) capped a fine weekend for Joseph Battleground (War Front) was withdrawn due to a cough, but a O’Brien when winning the Gr.1 National Stakes at the quality field of ten remained.
