AN EVENING WITH MAJ3LENE DIETRICH, BENEFIT AT MUSEUM OF MODERN ART
"An evening With Marlene Dietrich," a gala benefit for the Museum of Modem
Art Film Library, will be presented Tueaday evening, April 7/ in the Museum
auditorium, 11 West 53 Street. A spectacular review of films illustrating the
career and screen character of the international star, the program will consist
of memorable dramatic and musical excerpts selected frcm The Blue Angel, Morocco,
The Blonde Venus, Desire, Destry Rideg Again, A Foreign Affair and others. Miss
Dietrich will appear at the benefit and at a reception in her honor following.
The evening will open the Museum' s Spring film series, Marlene Dietrich; Image
and Legend.
Among the film excerpts will be many of the songs Miss Dietrich made famous -
"Falling in Love Again/1 "I've Been in Love Before/' "Black Market," "You've Got
That Look/' "See What the Boys in the Back Room Will Have" and others.
Tickets, at $12.50, may be obtained at the Museum of Modern Art.
Beginning April 8, Marlene Dietrich: Image and Legend, will continue for
approximately twelve weeks in the Museum auditorium. A full-length film will
be shown to toe public daily at 3 and 5:30, the program changing each week. An
illustrated catalog by Richard Griffith, Curator of the Museum's Film Library,
will be published in conjunction with the series.
