The college has annual expense of Rs 70 lacs and income from college is Rs 81 lacs. On an average, the society gets a surplus of Rs 1.80 crores to Rs 1.90 crores from last 3 conferences. There can be a problem if 1 conference occurs a loss. The publication expenses will reduce. It should be allowed through newsletter or website and not allowed through social media. Dr YatinMehta – The matter has been discussed in detail and then subsequently it has been unanimously decided that the canvassing should be allowed. We are being hypocritical. Lot of canvassing was happening. The only objection to canvassing is that its commercialisation will not be allowed. Dr J V Divatia – The society central body or Election Commission should officially do periodic campaigning by sending material of candidates to members. Dr Subhal Dixit – The election process has been reduced only to one month. Dr Kapil Zirpe – Can canvassing be opened with provisions proposed. The members proposed and passed the amendment. The member had issue over 3 Executive Committee members from each zone. They perceived it as disproportionate to members per zone. Dr Kapil Zirpe – If representation is based on numbers then North, West and South Zone will dominate and East and Central Zone will suffer. There are enough posts for contesting Pan India. The intention is to take ISCCM to all parts of country. The purpose of amendment is not to do justice or injustice to anybody. The members applauded Dr Kapil Zirpe. Dr Gunjan Chanchalani agreed to representation from each zone. However, her contention was that how there can be equal representation with some zones having more members and some zones having lesser members. There is no equity in this. Dr Kapil Zirpe – The members could participate in ICCM Board as well. Dr YatinMehta – ISCCM is not political organisation. The proposed amendment is fair. The members proposed and passed the amendment. The members proposed and passed all the other amendments also. Dr Rajesh Chawla – he had never seen attendance and discussion like this at AGM. Also please place on record my gratitude for the Associate Editors in particular and the editorial board for their help in this difficult period of transition from one publisher who neither gave ISCCM any royalty nor any transparent transaction history, to a new publisher. Number of articles received and published in IJCCM 1. No of articles submitted in 2019 (1st January to 31st December 2019): 1400 articles 2. No of articles published from January 2019 to December issue: 153 3. Articles published in Special issues: 47 4. No of articles rejected: 723 New beginning 1. We published the Supplement 1 consisting of 2 guidelines on antimicrobial use in India. 2. There were 3 other special issues called Advancing frontiers in Critical Care Medicine. We aimed these at topics not normally discussed in great detail in the CMEs and conferences: a. Neurocritical Care (Guest Editors: Sameer Jog, Kapil Zirpe) b. Transfusion (Guest Editors: Srinivas Samavedam, Ashit Hegde) c. Poisoning (Binila Chacko and Bhuvana Krishna) with particular emphasis on Indian population. This will be uploaded this Tuesday. 3. The first Special issue of March will be on renal problems in the critically ill and RRT.Ashit Hegde and N Ramakrishnan have agreed to do this for us. 4. There is a plan to bring out a special supplement of Guidelines to be distributed to all the delegates at Criticare 2020, provided we get the guidelines in the final form by the 25th January 2020. Finances of IJCCM 1. The entire year's (2019) issues were sponsored by Cipla Pharmaceuticals. This was arranged through the pharmaceutical industry management (or liaison) division of JP Brothers Medical Publishers Pvt. Ltd. They also managed the get Cipla to buy 10,000 copies of the first guidelines supplement which were distributed to all delegates at Criticare 2019. 2. Since the special issues were not contracted for, the publisher wanted us to pay INR 350,000 /issue, which was sanctioned very kindly by the President and the Finance Committee Chairman and all members. (My thanks for this for the record please). However fortunately I was able to bring the cost per special issue down to INR 200,000 /issue. 3. We also paid INR 250,000 for development and management of the journal platform. This was a one time payment and subsequently we need to pay INR 20,000 as annual website maintenance charges 4. So overall we paid INR 673,718 (supplement 2 and 3 INR 400,000 website development, INR 250,000 courier charges IJCCM 1st to 4th issue INR 23,718) 5. The next year's arrangement is in process of being worked out and I will soon let you know the outcome.

Impact factor for IJCCM

On the bases of self-evaluated the journals will transfer to Current Indexing of IJCCM - Science Citation Index Emerging Sources Expanded (SCIE) Citation Index (ESCI) (No action required from society or publisher)

Journal Citation Reports (JCR) evaluation process will start in Journal Citation Reports (JCR) March and results will be evaluate the journals indexed announced in the month of in SCIE for Impact Factor June of the same year

— IJCCM is indexed in PubMed, Scopus and ESCI (see above) — The format of moving from SCIE and impact factor is also given above — As publisher of IJCCM, JP Brothers Medical Publishers Pvt. Ltd, are in constant touch with the authorities at Web of Science Group and they will keep updating us on the progress. Help needed for this: — All ISCCM members please add atleast two IJCCM slides at their all presentations or Lectures across the global conferences while presenting their papers. — Global visibility is the core behind increasing citation. ORCID: — We will run a banner on the website which all authors will see, as soon as they login to IJCCM submission page with a link to register or create their ORCID IDs (from coming Monday onwards) — ORCID won't be made mandatory for first 6 months so that number of submissions don't get reduced. — This will attract registered and documented record for benefit of Authors in different manners. With warm regards Atul Kulkarni Editor-in-Chief Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine

The year 2019 has been quite jubilant for ISCCM Chennai with a spree of high quality educational activities which included five annual workshops, one refresher course, a series of five journal club meetings and four highly engaging CMEs. All of these were well attended and appreciated. We kick-started the year with an international speaker program by Dr. Bala Venkatesh, the primary investigator of ADRENAL trial who walked us through the evolution of evidence behind corticosteroids in septic shock. This was followed by a new entry workshop titled "Soft skills for physicians" which dealt with core competencies in Communication and Research. The Tamil Nadu Medical Council had awarded 4 credit hours for these two days event. The Annual Neuro critical-care workshop in association with the Neuro-critical care society, USA, entered its second successful year in February 2019. The sessions were handled by highly acclaimed faculty. Doctors, nurses, and allied health staff working in acute care specialties, ICUs and EDs from various hospitals had attended the course. This workshop was awarded 4 credit hours by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council. The much awaited "Year in review 2018" was presented by Dr. Ram E. Rajagopalan in the month of March. This was an intense scrutiny of emerging evidence with abundance of humor and interaction. The three other international speaker programs were delivered by Prof. Roopen Arya, Dr. Krishnan Sriram and Dr. Krishnaswamy Sundararajan in April, July and August respectively. All of them had dealt with topics of utmost clinical significance. Journal club meetings were for the first time conducted as a series of seven meetings across the year to span and include the different kinds of clinical research. This served as a very important platform for learning and moreover to bring out the talents of trainees from across the city who were made to present the journals to a gathering of senior mentors. The signature events of ISCCM Chennai, namely the 15th Annual Workshop on Principles and Practice of Mechanical Ventilation, the 2nd Annual Workshop on Advanced Mechanical Ventilation, the 15th Annual Workshop on Hemodynamic Monitoring and the 15th Annual Refresher Course went on without a glitch and concluded with very promising feedback from delegates. The above events were awarded with 4, 2, 6 and 9 credit hours respectively, by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council. The ISCCM Chennai can boast of having trained 406 delegates this year during the workshops put together. In addition to the above, ISCCM Chennai observed the World Sepsis Day and ISCCM day by organizing various activities in many hospitals across the city. All this and more could not have happened without the meticulous planning and execution by all office bearers in association with senior mentors, well-wishers and all members who add meaning to these events by their very valuable presence. We look forward to a more engaging and enterprising 2020. Dr Susovan Mitra General Secretary

13.9. BRANCH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (BMS) ISCCM is growing every year, after 24 years it has more than 10000 members with 76 branches all over the country. With the increase in the number of branches and passage of time it was felt that other than few branches the activities, participation and involvement of other branches with centre are decreasing. It was also felt that their involvement in National election is decreasing. Hence the Idea of this Branch Management system (BMS) was launched. Branches were made with a motive to evenly spread out the knowledge of critical care and ISCCM activities all over the country. Branches were given the rights to organise their own academic and social activities and also to organise the National Conference. Branch constitution was also made to maintain uniformity. All branch activities along with their audit report is submitted to the centre annually. It is the centre's job to review the branch activities annually. Credentials are given accordingly depending upon the involvement of branches with the centre and other activities. Through branch management system (BMS) every branch is linked directly to the centre. Instead of centre the stakeholder is now the branch. The chairman and secretary of the branch has open access to upload and de-load in their webpages assigned. They have freedom of uploading all their activities, election results, audit reports on their own. They can conduct their city branch election also through that. Every branch member has got an access right to the BMS so that they can give their feedback. Grievances against the branch, member
