Details and the 2021 Registration Form ALL CONTESTANTS MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER RULES FOR SLAB CUTTING COMPETITION Chain saw must be stock model, no engine modifications, and MUST have all original safety equipment in place; contestants MUST wear approved safety glasses (not provided) RULES FOR FIREWOOD SPLITTING COMPETITION A round will be chosen randomly and each contestant will split their round into pieces small enough to go through a 6”hole that is cut into a piece of plywood. All pieces of the round must be put through the hole and the time ends when the last piece is through the hole. RULES FOR AX THROWING COMPETITION Each competitor will receive THREE throws, plus 1 practice throw at the begin- ning for sighting the target. The competitor with the most points at the end of THREE throws wins. RULES FOR CHAINSAW CARVING COMPETITION Each competitor will be given an approximately4’ tall x 18” log. Competitors will provide their own chainsaw and safety equipment. Carving will begin at NOON and judging will begin at 4pm Carvings will become the property of Frontier Days and will be Auctioned off at the end of the competition. With over 2300 livestock expected at the 2014 Dutchess County Fair, a sure bet for hours of free entertainment is a trip to Livestock Hill. Cows, sheep, goats, chickens, llamas, horses and other beautiful animals are all on display and vying for ribbons in the ongoing Livestock shows.
