١ ر ل د، و اﯾر ,1-Neither did Rustam live for six hundred years روﯾ د. ا آرزوی دراز و ھ nor Isfandiar was immortal, but the yearning for ان ده و ھ. ن ان د آرزوھ ا، longevity and immortality has always been with در در آن، ا رﯾ در ک و human race and will be forever. Jahan Pahlevan (World Champion) is the man of dreams, a tree ھ رﯾ ھ ا ورش . اﯾ آرزوھی with branches high in the sky, but its roots deeply ا ن ا را و in earth and therefore highly believable. Our دﯾی را روﯾ . yearnings can make a World champion live for six hundred years and immortalize another. ٢ ن ان، ﯾ در ی ه اﯾان از ام د، و ن ان ری در طل رﯾ؛ ا 2- "Jahan Pahlevan" also known as "World دو م در طه ھ ر ه ا، ر Champion" was the highest rank in pre-Islamic زال را ھ « ن ان » ا و رﯾ Iranian Army and therefore there have been ، را. many World Champions in History, but there are only two World Champions whose titles have ٣ در آد د آ. او وه been remembered permanently: Rustam son of اﯾ ی ر و ک د، و ھي Zal in Shahname mythology and Gholamreza دي دا از او ا ا از آوره ی او .Takhti in our contemporary History ال طی ا اﯾان . ادب، و، اھ، آزاد، اام ن و Gholamreza Takhti was born in Khani Abad, a 3- ارزش ھي ھ و ھي او دان poor southern neighborhood of Tehran. ۵ در اب ھان، دم ، وﯾ Many artists have addressed Takhti in their 4- ھی او از ط ی د ر ده و ان ﯾ work but such attempts have never been on a ه د . ﯾ ﯾ داﯾه ی ، داﯾ و collective and comprehensive level. I would have ھ ا ﯾه ھ ا دم. ھ loved this project to get involved with other ﯾ ﯾ ه ا ﯾ او artistic forms of expression such as film, theatre . اب ھی ده ای دا از and music in a way that every artist is able to ھا اﯾ ھ و ھی ن و narrate his own story and to get it registered and ان از ھ ان داھ ود آ ، و exhibited for the public and to merge it with the people's collective memory of the champion. د و ... ، اه دا ام و از ھ آن آه ام و اﯾ ای ا اھ ، و دش . دا For selecting the Artists I thought of Takhti 5- اﯾ ﯾه را ، و ﯾ who had crossed class barriers and had turned ار د. ا اﯾ طر ا. himself to a national hero. The exhibition couldn't have been limited to works of an Artistic closed coterie, permanently present in most of the other ۶ ی ن ازی ا، ا exhibitions. Autodidact Artists, street Artists, ان اش ه ا، ھ زه ﯾ illustrators, cartoonists and younger artists had ای ارد. ﯾ ان ب ھ، ت و آری something to say on this subject and therefor در ره ی او ا ، اﯾ را ، they should have been considered too. No doubt, ُ ھﯾ را دﯾ، ، و ز و اش آ I have had some mistakes but this is the . ری در اﯾ ﯾه ب دآوری compensation for experimenting and forming a ه ا، ان آن ھ را ای ھ در زه personal identity. It was also possible to make ی ﯾ ا و آن را زه ی زه ای the exhibition smaller, more elitist and perhaps ﯾ د آ و ان ھ . ا اﯾ .more refined. But this wasn't my intention دﯾ در ان ﯾ « ﯾ دان » ، اﯾ دﯾا را ط اﯾ ز و ان اش را 6- Every country celebrates the achievements of دو دار. its heroes whose pride is the pride of a nation but piazza Takhti is left without a monument, آرش ﯾ museum or institution. There is no particular

source to follow the publication and Art works related to him, to see recordings of his matches, to hear his voice or to get acquainted with his life and manners. A lot of this sort of material was gathered in the course of curating this exhibition and can be deposited safely in a sort of Takhti institute, turn it to a living museum and a place for gathering of the youth. But this curator is unable to guarantee this and therefore there is a need for efforts of the others who love this country and its people just like Takhti loved.
