Snake River Sporting Club Improvement & Service District Candidate Bios – March 16, 2021 Election

Kenneth Ball “I have been a homeowner in SRSC since 2017. I founded my construction company in 1994. We are predominantly a residential Military Housing Contractor. In 2004, I merged my company with a Fortune 500 Company and served as the President for that division for 12 years. In 2016, I reassumed ownership of the company and continue to build Military Housing Units across the US. Working on over 10,000 Military Housing Units and 2 dozen Barracks and Hotels gives me insight into budgeting and cost planning as well as life safety issues for our Development. Being a homeowner also makes me sensitive to what we, the homeowners, want our Neighborhoods to look like and which services we would like to have. “

We moved to Short Hills, New Jersey in 1955. I attended Millburn High School and graduated in 1964. I attended MIT and received a BS in Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1968. I satisfied my military obligation by enlisting in the US Air Force. I was on active duty from January 2, 1969 through May 31, 1973, stationed at the Satellite Control Facility in Sunnyvale, California. My work involved generating command messages for one of our spy satellite programs.

After leaving the Air Force, I moved to San Francisco and attended law school at the University of California at Hastings College of the Law. I graduated in 1976 and joined a law firm in San Francisco, Heller, Ehrman. I became a litigation associate, then partner, and remained until the firm closed its doors in 2008. While at the firm, I formed the firm’s intellectual property practice and led that group from inception to over 80 attorneys. After the firm dissolved, I joined Covington & Burling, opening its Silicon Valley office. I became a senior counsel in 2017 and remain active in patent litigation. I was married to my first wife from 1968 through 1999. We had two children, Laurel, born in 1981, and Julia, born in 1983. We lived in Palo Alto, California. I married my wife Molly in 2002 and helped raise two more children, Jade, now 28, and Austin, now 25.

Thus far we have been blessed with 4 grandchildren, Mia, 9, Masen, 7, and Micah and Maddox, both 3 months. We hope for more.
