Tourism & Volunteer Statistics

• Once again visitors to the Mill and Train spent an additional $1.5 million in the Valley at hotels, restaurants, gift shops and gas stations. • The 12,000 plus volunteer hours in 2015 provide cost savings in excess of $200,000 to the overall operation. • Wages to our full time, part time and seasonal staff accounted for $242,732 of the total budget in 2015. These people live in the Valley, pay taxes and spend much of their income here. • Marketing on the national and local levels is key to increasing the number of visitors in 2016 and future years and the formation of the new McLean/APR Board has exciting plans to achieve those goals.
