Alberni Pacific Railway/ McLean Mill 2016 Financial Plan Preserving the History of Our Forest Industry Alberni Pacific Railway and McLean Mill Attendance and Special Events 2015 - 10,860/24 2014 – 11,388/34 2013 – 11,053/35 2012 – 13,182/30 2011 – 13,248/29 2010 – 15,366/31 2009 – 14,614/26 2008 - 14,774/24 2007 - 14,053/24 2006 - 11,051/21 2005 - 9,938/5 Tourism & Volunteer Statistics • Once again visitors to the Mill and Train spent an additional $1.5 million in the Valley at hotels, restaurants, gift shops and gas stations. • The 12,000 plus volunteer hours in 2015 provide cost savings in excess of $200,000 to the overall operation. • Wages to our full time, part time and seasonal staff accounted for $242,732 of the total budget in 2015. These people live in the Valley, pay taxes and spend much of their income here. • Marketing on the national and local levels is key to increasing the number of visitors in 2016 and future years and the formation of the new McLean/APR Board has exciting plans to achieve those goals.
