If we are to address issues of equity and meet the economic and social challenges we face as a society, we must make good on the promise of education and prepare all students with the skills and knowledge they’ll need for full participation in postsecondary education, work, and life. At the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, we believe high-quality, student-centered approaches to learning are the key to preparing young people for success during and after high school. These approaches acknowledge that people learn in different ways, at different times, and at different rates in a variety of school and community settings. In these approaches, learning becomes the constant and where, when, and how it happens - as well as who the adults are that facilitate it – become the variables.
