7 Debt3 May/June 2009 by Nicholas D. Krawec, Esq. s I write this, we are only a few weeks before the Commercial Law League’s national meeting in Chicago. We all will likely take a lot of extra business cards with us when we go to Chicago, renew and maintain old business and personal relationships, and hopefully meet some new people. Attorneys will be looking for new agency faces, or perhaps other attorneys who may have clients that need legal services in their state. We will promote ourselves and our practices to other League members, and in the process establish personal relationships so that we become their “go to” people when it comes to creditors’ rights or bankruptcy matters. That’s all well and good. Many of us have made a good living out of the business gen- erated by our League membership and relationships. However, there is only a fi nite amount of business that can be generated out of any one organization.

Please don’t get me wrong. I am by no means minimizing the value of the League or the importance of the relationships we have established there. But what are we doing to build our business networks when we are away from League functions? Obvi-
