NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure 2021TRAN0023-000577 March 30, 2021 Inter-city bus operators, regional airports receive funding from Province VICTORIA ʹTwenty inter-city bus operators and 55 regional airports are approved to receive funding to help them stay open and provide essential transportation services to British Columbians. ͞Our government is working to keep vital services operating during this unprecedented time, and this funding will help British Columbians ʹespecially those in rural areas of the province ʹ have a safe and reliable way to travel to essential appointments,͟said Rob Fleming, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. ͞We know inter-city bus companies and regional airports were in critical need of funding to keep their operations going during COVID-19. With this investment, inter-city buses and regional airports will now have the funding they need to continue operating and serving people.͟ The Province has issued a one-time investment of $6.2 million to a number of inter-city bus operators and $16.5 million for regional airports to support operations between April 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022. The bus operators and airports will use the funds to pay for operating costs, like maintenance expenses for buses, air terminals and runways. The funds will also go toward payroll, rent and other overhead costs to keep these services operating. ͞Universal Coach, operators of the Skylynx Shuttle, are deeply grateful to the Province for supporting the transportation needs of the Sea-to-Sky First Nations and communities,͟said Lindsay Moir, vice-president, Universal Coach Line Ltd. ͞Our drivers and staff, with years of specialized experience, can breathe easier knowing their jobs will continue. Locals looking for car-free transportation for employment, and medical and personal appointments, can depend on Skylynx to be there thanks to this government͛s initiative.͟ The funding will help operators recover from this challenging time and build back even stronger. ͞We want to congratulate the Province for showing national leadership in supporting and recognizing the importance of B.C. airports to the global economy,͟said Sam Samaddar, airport director, Kelowna International Airport. ͞This funding will provide a lifeline to YLW to maintain critical airport services that support cargo operations and medevac services while we wait for commercial air service to recover.͟ This funding builds on additional financial support provided by the Province to the transportation sector. This includes allowing taxi operators to defer licence renewals if they are not operating, rather than losing their licences and having to reapply, as well as ensuring taxi companies can access and benefit from the Small and Medium Sized Business Recovery Grant program. In addition, over $1 billion in joint funding with the federal government will allow TransLink, BC Transit and BC Ferries to maintain essential transportation service levels throughout the province and help make sure fares remain affordable as part of BC͛s Restart Plan. To be eligible for the one-time grant for inter-city bus operators, companies were required to: 1. hold a valid Special Authorization Licence for Inter-City Bus; 2. be registered as a company in B.C.; 3. provide operating costs; 4. not be prepared for closure, dissolution or sale; 5. provide appropriate service levels as a grant condition; and 6. agree to report on the delivery of services. The grant value for each business varied depending on information provided by the operator, including: vehicle capacity and operating costs per route; level of services provided; and if the company has received any other funding relief support. There were no limits on employee numbers, size or geographic coverage. The following companies have met the eligibility criteria and are approved to receive funding: Northern B.C. Each airport operator submitted a letter of interest confirming its role in hosting medevac services, identifying its pre and post COVID-19 revenues, and its revenue and expenditure projections for 2021. Based on a combination of their revenue losses and the budgeted expenditures, airports received funding from one of four categories: Category A ʹairports receiving $720,000 Category B ʹairports receiving $360,000 Category C ʹairports receiving $180,000 Category D ʹairports receiving operational grant funding of up to $90,000 The following airports have been approved to receive funding that will help maintain air terminals, runways and other operations for the essential movement of goods and people: Northern B.C. Gener- ally we must face all challenges mentally before we can tackle the physical ones. I've had a stroke and I can't do all sorts of things I used to do. So what! You are not alone and many people have had the same challenges. What did they do? They got busy working on overcoming them. The worst thing you can do is “Woe is me, poor me, look at me, feel sorry for me”. Try not to bring attention to yourself. Just get busy getting the help to cure your problem. There are many places to get that help. There are rehab hos- pitals and a great source is a stroke recovery branch where you will get a lot of mental and physical sup- port. Here you will take away a tremendous amount of help mentally and physically. The best thing you can do is never give up. -Corky B. MANDATE The Boundary Bay Airport Advisory Committee will, consistent with the general purpose described above, undertake the following through the Chair: 1. Advise Council and staff with regard to specific operations issues affecting the airport and lands; 2. June 17, 2008 June 17, 2008 Confidential Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast Region Air Transportation Outlook i Executive Summary InterVISTAS Consulting Inc. was retained by the Vancouver Island Economic Developers Association (VIEDA) to develop a Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast Region Air Transportation Outlook. Most airports in Canada and all but one of the airports in the study area are managed by independent authorities or by municipal councils of the communities they serve. These airports are free to participate in any market sector in which they see opportunity: as defined and sanctioned by their Board’s mission, vision and strategic plan for their community’s airport. Key factors that govern and shape decisions around market participation are: ■ Market opportunities in terms of underserved regions, low levels of service and the airport’s competitive positioning in that sector based on market analysis ■ The operational capability of the airport to participate in target markets ■ A business case that supports the investment to enter target markets The InterVISTAS’ approach and methodology for this study was shaped by these considerations. The report assesses levels of service by defined regions and market sectors, identifies current levels of service, assesses airports’ capabilities in the region and recommends development subject to detailed business case analysis. Section 2 of the report presents an overview of the socio-economic and demographic characteristics of the seven major Regional Districts contained in the study area. The data shows significant forecast population growth for the Central Island Regional Districts of Nanaimo, Comox/Strathacona and the Cowichan Valley as well as the Sunshine Coast Regional District (Gibsons/Sechelt).

Package Includes: Fixed wing charter flight into and out of the camp from Smithers, BC; 6 fully guided days of angling on the Sustut River, meals, non-alcoholic beverages, accommodations while at the lodge, and select wines served with dinner. Package Does Not Include: Meals and accommodations while in Smithers, hard alcohol, beer, BC fishing licenses, gratuities, and additional unforeseen air charters fixed wing or helicopter. Gratuities: Gratuities are not included in the cost of the package and are left to the discretion of the individual angler. However, for planning purposes, guided anglers can expect an industry standard of 10-20% of the fishing package. Trip Itinerary * In 2017 we will be running a Saturday to Saturday program- Flying into the lodge from Smithers ​ ​ ​ ​ on a Saturday and departing the lodge for Smithers the following Saturday.

Box 149 3350 Spitfire Rd Cassidy, BC Canada V0R 1H0 Ph (250) 245-2157 Fax (250) 245-4308 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2 Millionth Passenger Milestone Achieved Nanaimo, British Columbia (May 11, 2016) —Celebrations are in full swing at the Nanaimo Airport, as the team welcomed the two millionth passenger through the terminal today as a part of the “You’re One in Two Million” campaign. The airports managed growth strategy first saw completion of a two-phase expansion plan between 2006 and 2011. Since then, passenger numbers have been on the climb, in fact they are 10 years ahead of passenger projections. By the beginning of 2016, just over 1,900,000 passengers travelled through YCD’s terminals since airport expansion started in 2006. Jorgen Poschmann, travelling with Air Canada home to Ontario, was randomly selected this morning from passengers travelling on flight AC 8260 and WS3228. He received a set of luggage and free parking at the Nanaimo Airport for a year, which will be used by his family he has been visiting on Gabriola Island. Each passenger today travelling on Air Canada flight 8260 and 8259, as well as WestJet flight 3228 and 3109 also received a Two Millionth Passenger Gift Pack. “We reached our millionth passenger just 3.5 short years ago," says Nanaimo Airport President and CEO Mike Hooper. "To grow by another one million travellers in such a short period of time shows that the people of Central Vancouver Island trust us to deliver convenience, affordability and safety while connecting them to the rest of the world.

As it prepares for the milestone, the airport is launching a "You're One in 2 Million" campaign that offers prizes for travellers and other residents of the region. "We reached our millionth passenger just 3.5 short years ago," says Nanaimo Airport President and CEO Mike Hooper. "To grow by another one million travellers in such a short period of time shows that the people of Central Vancouver Island trust us to deliver convenience, affordability and safety while connecting them to the rest of the world. We're very proud to be the Central Island's airport of choice." Two million passengers is roughly equal to every person in the City of Nanaimo making 24 trips. In 2015 the airport served as a gateway for 312,000 people -- the sixth straight year in which it set a record for passenger traffic. The airport is ten years ahead of its own passenger projections. As part of the "You're One in 2 Million" campaign, the two millionth passenger will be designated among fliers taking a flight in or out of Nanaimo Airport in the next month.
