1 2016 U.S. Women's Football Leagues Addendum
2016 U.S. Women’s Football Leagues Addendum New Mexico Adult Football League – Women’s Division (NMAFL-W) – 2015 Season The NMAFL-W launched in 2015 with five teams in New Mexico. The Alamogordo Aztecs failed to complete the season, while the Amarillo Lady Punishers joined the league late and absorbed four forfeit losses before even getting out of the gate. But the Lady Punishers were formidable once they got started, upsetting the previously undefeated Roswell Destroyers in the playoffs to make it to the first NMAFL-W title game. That opened the door for the Santa Fe Dukes to swoop in and capture the NMAFL-W championship at the conclusion of the league’s first season. •2011 CJFL Record Book Final:2007 Record Book
…Introduction This edition of our Record Book includes some new material and recent research. First, we had an opportunity to obtain the original game sheets from former PJFC Chief Statistician Darly Slade. These sheets are from 1976 to 1982 and provide us with a hugh catalogue of lost information. Included in the Prairie papers were copies of weekly stats releases from the BC, Manitoba and Ontario Conferences. In particular there was a 1978 letter from former OFC Chief Statistician Lloyd Norton regarding the suspension of the Etobicoke-Lakeshore Bears by President Paul Teolis. In researching this matter we also found that Scarboro Rams ceased operations for the season some 10 days later and that both teams were missing in previous OFC final standings. This has been updated. Also, we have learned from Paul Shortt that the 1978 BC league had similar issues in 1978. North Shore Cougars failed to field a team and Vancouver Blue Bombers folded after just two games. More detailed information can be found in the 1978 Milestone section. Secondly, more newspaper articles became available for the Eastern teams of 1904 to 1913, the Manitoba juniors of 1912 & 1913, the Western Groups of the 1927 Jr ORFU, as well as the 1949 and 1970 Jr ORFU. These team standings have been update. New research information on the actual organization structure of both the ORFU and the QRFU have required us to refer to them as the Junior ORFU or QRFU per say rather than the ORFU- QRFU Juniors. The Eastern team standings are updated on this change. -

Nu 2017 CJFL Guide and Record Manual
…Introduction This year we are introducing Coaches records, something that we are sure you will find interesting and informative. Special thanks to Daryl Slade, former PJFC chief statistician and his coaches list 1976-81 and several newspaper articles. Barry Kowalski of the Edmonton Wildcats, Jim Stevenson and Paul Shortt for providing coaches records from their respective conferences. Apologies to Queen’s University II. Further research has found that there was an Ontario junior championship game played Nov 7, 1891. In spite of Hamilton not wanting to make the long train trip, the game was played with Queen’s winning 13-10 over the junior Tigers. Queens also scored the first safety touch. Apologies to “Billy” McDonald, Montréal AAA III. His 5 singles in the Quebec junior championship on Nov 17, 1894 was a then junior record. Apologies to Harvey Evel, Hamilton Tigers II. His 12 singles on October 24, 1903 is a still standing playoff record. Apologies to Ridley College Tigers. In their 80-4 win on November 6, 1915 the 14 touchdowns scored in this game was the second most in junior history and the 12 by rushing equaled the junior record. James Wallace Alexander scores 33 points, the third most in junior history. Apologies to Paul Robertson, Westmount II Rugby Club. His 8 converts in the Quebec championship on Nov 22, 1913 is a junior record. Apologies to Fred Payne, Westmount II Rugby Club. His 3 rushing touchdowns in the Quebec championship on Nov 22, 1913 was third most. Apologies to Stanley Booth, Grand Trunk Boat Club. Research has found that during the 1920 season he kicked a then record of 24 singles. -
2004 NFL Season Tuesday Morning Quarterbacks
Tuesday Morning Quarterback Page 1 of 13 Dumbledore returns, plus cheerleaders from the future travel backward in time to save Star Trek! By Gregg Easterbrook Special to NFL.com (Aug. 10, 2004) -- Thank goodness it's about to end -- that long, lonely NFL offseason will conclude, and the nutty artificial universe of pro football resumes. Not a moment too soon! All the madness, the hype, the ill-tempered gentlemen slamming into each other, the scantily attired cheer-babes. I don't know about you, but I can't wait. In a moment, my annual review of offseason highlights -- actually, lowlights. But first, a Tuesday Morning Quarterback public-policy proposal: uniform amnesty. All NFL teams that have adopted garish new color schemes or monochrome looks, TMQ is proclaiming an amnesty. Return to your old uniforms, and no questions asked. For my money, the Bills, Bolts, Broncos, Cowboys, Falcons, Giants, Jets, Patriots, Seahawks and Titans went downhill with their uniform alterations; only the Bucs, Eagles and Rams look better in their revisionist duds than those that came before. The Cowboys: What, exactly, was wrong with preserving the look that won all those Super Bowls? The Giants: They switched to gray as an accent color, now there's a color that really pops, and made themselves the slowest-looking team in the league. The Seahawks: They look like they just fell into a pot of finger paints Tennessee: The old Oiler jerseys were sleek and glistening, the new shoulder-pads-squares thing makes Titans' players appear to be sewing mannequins escaped from a couturière. -
