Bassett ABSTRACT The accompanying 1:100,000 scale geologic map (Open-File Map Series 105, Plate 1) depicts the areal distribution of bedrock and surficial geologic units for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Daytona Beach 30 x 60 minute quadrangle. The map was constructed using a combination of field mapping (at 1:24,000 scale), compilation of data from existing maps (various scales), core and cuttings analyses and descriptions, geophysical log analyses and analyses of various Geographic Information System (GIS) data sources. The resulting data were compiled in ESRI® ArcGIS® ArcMap™ 10 software for publication as part of the Florida Geological Survey Open-File Map Series. Mapped units range from Middle Miocene to Quaternary. Important resources in the mapped area include potable groundwater,
