Dr Kampol said another 300 of flood victims wished to return home to Ayutthaya, while the rest of the victims will be staying at the university for another night. The evacuation is being assisted by Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) which is providing buses. The rector said that floodwaters are 1.5 metres deep at the university entrance where floodwater has poured into the ground floor of the gymnasium, a temporary shelter for flood victims who had earlier evacuated their homes in Ayutthaya. The deeper water has interrupted the electrical system, halting the air conditioning, resulting in inconvenient living conditions, but generators are now being used to provide basic electrical power. The rector said although Rajamangala National Stadium, a facility of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), is itself at risk of floods, it should be safe enough, for it is located near a huge water tunnel. If the shelter is not sufficient for flood 'refugees', they can evacuate further to Vajiravudh International Scout Camp in Chon Buri, southeast of Bangkok. Sports Authority Governor Kanokpan Jullakasem said Rajamangala Stadium has prepared with about 7,000 sets of bedding for evacuees.
