Story: „Steps to Geoffrey’s knighthood“

1) My name is Geoffrey de Morley. I am seven years old. My parents are not rich, but it is okay. Today, I am leaving home to live at my uncle’s castle. I am on my way to becoming a knight. 2) Because I am not a knight yet, I have to learn a lot. Each day I train my body by wrestling and fighting with wooden for many hours. 3) The Lady of the castle teaches me how to behave in the right way. I have to serve food and drinks at the dinner table and learn how to sing and dance. 4) I learn to read and write. I don’t think it is important for a good knight. 5) After 8 years of training. I am an assistant to a knight. I have to help him to put on his armour. 6) I learn to fight with real weapons and to look after my knight’s armour and horses. 7) Today is my dubbing ceremony. I kneel in front of the King. He taps me on the shoulder with his sword and says, “I dub you knight”. Now I am a knight.
