† FROM OUR PASTOR, FR. TROHA

Our celebration of last weekend was in marked contrast to the Easter celebration of one year ago. All of the churches were shut down last year at that time due to Tina Ard Donald Jordan the Covid pandemic. Our last year was Christine Ball Ralph Kimpton celebrated by me and Fr. McNeil and Deacon Paul Hlabse. Lu Brienik Mickey Kostelnik This past weekend we had a full congregation at all three Masses. It was really half-full due to the Covid Larry Brown Sam Kovalak restrictions which are still in place for large gatherings. David Green Elayne Kramer The total attendance for the three Masses was over 700 Diana Eisman George Malik people. I do want to offer special thanks to Maureen Hogan and her group Dorothy Feldcamp Carmen Polly of hard workers for decorating the church so beautifully. I also want to thank Michael Kelley for the wonderful job of continuing our music Patricia Flynn Eileen Sheldon ministry with the cantors and some choir members. Our ushers and greet- Jack Hanslik Nancy Vehr ers also deserve our thanks for carrying on their welcoming ministry amidst Joann Hlabse Barbara Walsh the restrictions too. I think that we have one of the best if not the best group of ushers in the entire diocese. They always perform their duties well

-dressed and in a most courteous manner. And I am grateful that so many parishioners came to Mass for Easter Sunday. I think I speak for all of us who serve at the altar that it was very special for us to have a full congregation to pray with.

This Sunday we celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Easter. It is also known as PRAYER LIST UPDATE Sunday of as Saint Pope John Paul II inaugurated this feast. To place yourself or immediate family member on the prayer list, kindly call the Parish Oce at In past years it was also called Low Sunday to distinguish it from the previ- 440-942-4500. Bishop Malesic sent out a letter a few weeks ago in regard to the pandemic. He points out how we have all been “stretched beyond imagination and frustrated by the limitations of the past year.” He continues to say, “God gave us what we needed, especially in the most di=cult times. God remains a steadfast help in time of need.” But then he reminds us that we are not quite done yet. He states:

“Even though we are beginning to get this pandemic under control, the virus still remains, and we all need to remain vigilant until that time when masks Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, are no longer necessary and appropriate social distancing is no longer and let perpetual light shine upon expected. The health and safety of everyone, especially those whose them. May they rest in peace. Amen health is compromised in any way, is of extreme importance and these ordinary means of protecting life have proven to be helpful. Remember Julia Sbrocco that patience is like all the virtues. It comes with practice. And, if these limitations and temporary requirements were a great burden to us, they were also the sufferings that we were able to endure and offer up for the salvation of souls, our own included.”

Good thoughts from our bishop. If you lack patience, say this prayer: Dear God, give me patience, and give it to me now! You might make God laugh. This prayer always make me laugh. Fr. Troha Paige Layla Sabo Mark Augustine Strand
