The Excellence of Papillons

By Grace Doome 2018 Appearance of Papillons

This happy, alert, and friendly is not the only great traits they have. The Papillon AKC breed dog is a small precious dog that measures 8-11 inches tall and 5-10 pounds. Papillon, meaning “Butterfly” gets its name from the spread of their gorgeous silk ears, which are large and well fringed, framing the face. This adorable companion has silky layers of colorful combinations, also covering the tail on the backside of papillons. Their innocent eyes are framed from the shape of their eyelids that lead to the corners of their ears. Why are Papillons great pets? “Why are Papillons great pets?” you might ask…

These amazing are more than just “Pets.” Training isn't the only great thing these little fellas can learn. These smart dogs are great to survive in an environment. These little friends thrive in any warm or cool climate, and will adjust to cities and towns. Although they can stand cold climates, Papillons should not be left outside in cool climates for a long period of time due to their thin layer of fur. These little guys will adjust well in any household and have a life expectancy of 14-17 years of life. Not only are they caring about others, but they show affection to everyone as if they were humans. The intelligence these dogs have is incredible. Papillons can learn new tricks fast and learn to understand things even faster. A Friendly Companion These amazingly smart dogs are great watchdogs. Although their appearance doesn't look so tough on the outside, they are great at alerting others if there is a change in the environment.

Papillons are great companions for happy energetic people. Papillons are very energetic and playful! These cuties will get their exercise mostly by themselves if there is a safe place to play. (Ex: a safe fenced in yard) Papillons enjoy having a job to perform and keeping themselves busy. Papillons Past

The earliest findings of Papillons trace back to Italy around 1500 through paintings. The Papillon breed was very popular in Belgium, England, and . Near the end of the 19th century, the large-eared small, fragile dog was named the Papillon because of its widespread ears shaped like butterfly wings. The Papillon was first recognized by the AKC in 1935 with the formation of the Papillon Club of America. The Papillon is still called the Epagneul Nain in other non-english speaking countries, and known throughout the world. Why I’m Interested in Papillons

Although I don't have a Papillon myself, these cute, adorable dogs attracted me right away. As I started to learn more and find out some amazingly cool facts about Papillons, I began to love them even more! I decided on the papillon because they are what I would loving in a dog. They are energetice, happy, friendly, and adorable! What I found super interesting is these little fellas only weigh 5-10 lbs! Although they might look weak (but cute) on the outside, they have a responsible and strong inside which makes them alert dogs to protect others. Sources:
