Ash Wednesday

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, February 26th. Please note that the evening Mass time is at 6:00pm. All Religious Education students from both sessions are asked to attend this Mass with their families.

It is a Catholic obligation to fast on Ash Wednesday. This fasting allows one full meal and two lighter meals on these days for Catholics ages 18 through 59 years of age.

It is also a Catholic obligation to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and each Friday during Lent. Catholics 14 years of age and older are obligated to observe this law.
