Bell said Sun is no longer being carried on its satellite TV service because there's no fee agreement with Quebecor..

  • Stu Davis: Canada's Cowboy Troubadour
Stu Davis: Canada’s Cowboy Troubadour by Brock Silversides Stu Davis was an immense presence on Western Canada’s country music scene from the late 1930s to the late 1960s. His is a name no longer well-known, even though he was continually on the radio and television waves regionally and nationally for more than a quarter century. In addition, he released twenty-three singles, twenty albums, and published four folios of songs: a multi-layered creative output unmatched by most of his contemporaries. Born David Stewart, he was the youngest son of Alex Stewart and Magdelena Fawns. They had emigrated from Scotland to Saskatchewan in 1909, homesteading on Twp. 13, Range 15, west of the 2nd Meridian.1 This was in the middle of the great Regina Plain, near the town of Francis. In 1920 they moved into Regina where Alex found employment as a gardener, then as a teamster for the City of Regina Parks Board. The family moved frequently: city directories show them at 1400 Rae Street (1921), 1367 Lorne North (1923), 929 Edgar Street (1924-1929), 1202 Elliott Street (1933-1936), 1265 Scarth Street for the remainder of the 1930s, and 1178 Cameron Street through the war years.2 Through these moves the family kept a hand in farming, with a small farm 12 kilometres northwest of the city near the hamlet of Boggy Creek, a stone’s throw from the scenic Qu’Appelle Valley.

  • Zoomermedia Limited Announces Declaration of Dividend
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ZoomerMedia Limited Announces Declaration of Dividend Toronto, Ontario, July 29, 2021- ZoomerMedia Limited (TSXV:ZUM) (the “Company”), the leader in speaking to and for the 45+ “Zoomer” market in Canada, today announces that its Board of Directors has declared a dividend of $0.0025 on each common and preferred share outstanding, payable on September 2, 2021 to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 18, 2021. The Company hereby advises that this dividend is designated as an "eligible dividend" as defined by the Income Tax Act (Canada) and any similar provincial or territorial legislation. "We met the many challenges of the last 18 months - a period characterized by sharp contractions in revenue, experienced especially by our radio, print + shows + conferences divisions - by judicious cost cutting + deferrals + essential, much appreciated, assistance from the Federal Government, every penny of which was spent to support continued employment of all staff. Accordingly, we are proud to say that there have been no layoffs at ZML; not a single one! Now, with a semblance of normal in view + business prospects brightening; with staff fully preserved + with the end of the CEWS only 2 months away; it’s finally time to recognize the patience, loyalty and confidence of shareholders. This dividend was to have been paid for fiscal 19/20, but was delayed due to uncertainties related to Covid19. Going forward it is the company's intention to continue to pay a dividend every year from now on,” said Moses Znaimer, Founder, President and CEO of ZoomerMedia Limited. About ZoomerMedia Limited ZoomerMedia is a multimedia company that serves the 45plus “Zoomer” demographic through television, radio, magazine, internet and trade shows.

The workshop is organised by the European Network on Integrating Vision and Language which is funded as a European COST Action. The VL workshops have the general aims: to provide a forum for reporting and discussing planned, ongoing and completed research that involves both language and vision; and to enable NLP and computer vision researchers to meet, exchange ideas, expertise and technology, and form new research partnerships. Research involving both language and vision computing spans a variety of disciplines and applications, and goes back a number of decades. In a recent scene shift, the big data era has thrown up a multitude of tasks in which vision and language are inherently linked. The explosive growth of visual and textual data, both online and in private repositories by diverse institutions and companies, has led to urgent requirements in terms of search, processing and management of digital content.
