Team Pantera of Orange County enjoyed a first class visit to a first class venue of French classics at the Mullin Automobile Museum on June 8th, 2013. Assembled by Peter W. Mullin, this collection is his passion. The museum's website declares, “For me the French automobiles of the 1920s and 1930s represent the pinnacle of 20th Century art and design. As an avid collector, the preservation of these rolling sculptures for the enjoyment of future generations is both a responsibility and a pleasure. I relish the stewardship and preservation of their exciting histories.” - Peter W. Mullin. Car Collection – With a total of over 350 cars, the museum continually rotates to display approximately 60 vehicles at any one time. The most 'common' marks are Bugatti, Avion Voisin, Delahaye, Hispano-Suiza, and Talbot-Lago, plus an upstairs mezzanine of LeMans race cars. In particular, it includes the worlds largest collection of Voisins. The heart of the collection is the: • 1939 Delahaye Type 165 Cabriolet, and one of only 6 12-cylinder Type 165s that was built to represent France at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. • 1935 Avions Voisin C25 Aerodyne, 'Best of Show' winner at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance. This magnificent car was first presented at the 1934 Paris Salon de l' Automobile. • 1934 Avions Voisin C27 Grand Sport Cabriolet, constructed in 1934 with a special low chassis C27 for the Shah of Persia. • 1936 BUGATTI Type 57SC Atlantic, the 2003 Pebble Beach 'Best of Show' award winner.

    INTRODUCTION We hope you enjoy reading through our latest catalogue. We aim to provide restorers and historic vehicle enthusiasts with transfers and graphics to the highest attainable standard. Our background is mainly motor cycle orientated but over the years we have found that many motor cycle transfers were used on bicycles, and vice versa. If you are unable to find what you need always ask - we may be about to have the item printed. The majority of our stocks are the popular waterslide transfers but we also supply vinyl graphics where originally they were in that format. Low volume sellers are also supplied as vinyl graphics where a waterslide print run would be totally uneconomic. We use only best quality cast 10 year vinyl with a 'thinness' of 50 microns (2 thou inch). We are also able to offer white registration letters and numbers in four sizes, 1¾ inch and 2½ inch deep for motor cycles and 3 inch and 3½ inch for three wheelers and motor cars. See last page for further details. By far the majority of our artwork is produced by hand-drawing (as were the originals) and we resist the temptation to produce transfers using standard computer fonts, thus keeping the period look of the originals. We have tried to be as accurate as we can with the relevant location and year information in our listings, but your detailed knowledge of a particular model may well be greater than ours. Her entertainment on that occasion, hitherto completely unknown, was described in a letter, printed here, from one Norfolk gentleman, Sir Edward Clere, to another, Bassingbourne Gawdy. The letter describes the dramatic performances and other entertainments provided for the queen, which included coded but unmistakeable encouragements for her to proceed with the marriage. This article discusses the ways in which this was done and their consequences for our knowledge of the Anjou marriage debate as a political episode, suggesting that Sussex sought to use the entertainment to boost the participation of more conservative members of the nobility in government.

    8 Travellers Car he Morris Traveller, as it has affectionately become known, has gained a well deserved reputation for being a practical and versatile vehicle. However, like the light commercial vehicles, it did not feature in the original line-up launched in 1948. In fact, the Traveller has the distinction of being the last Morris Minor model to enter production. It was not until autumn of 1953 that the Traveller made its debut atT the London Motor Show. Full scale production began in October of that year. Interestingly, the brochure issued at the Motor Show did not refer to the vehicle as a Traveller. American influences were clearly at work, and the designation ‘Station Wagon’ was used instead. Coincidentally, the contemporary term ‘Shooting Brake’ was also applied to the Traveller. However this was never an official designation, merely a carry over from the pre-war era when this terminology was used to describe estate type models, particularly those with wooden panelling. It is, however, a description still used today by those who have fond memories of the Traveller in its hey day. The Station Wagon designation, however apt, was short lived. Within a matter of months, updated brochures were describing the vehicle as the ‘Travellers Car,’ and linking its promotion to the bigger-engined and larger proportioned Morris Oxford Series MO Travellers Car. Advertising ran concurrent for a time, presumably to give prospective customers a choice with regard to which Morris vehicle they would like. This followed the trend already noted in connection with Morris Motors intention to manufacture large, The combined attraction of having the features of a saloon, as well as those of a light, general purpose vehicle, were actively promoted.
