OVERALL 13-11 LAST TIME OUT WAC 7-4 Utah Valley rallied from a 14-point deficit to knock off UT Rio Grande Valley 72-57 in Lockhart Arena last Saturday. Jordan LEADING AFTER FIRST QUARTER 4-1 Holland and Maria Carvalho each scored 16 points to lead five Wolverines in double figures as they finished off the regular season sweep of UT Rio Grande Valley. The Wolverines improve to 13-11 on the season, including 7-4 in conference play. TRAILING AFTER FIRST QUARTER 8-10 The Vaqueros fall to 14-11 and 8-4 WAC play. UVU fell behind 39-25 in the second quarter before outscoring the Vaqueros TIED AFTER FIRST QUARTER 1-0 47-18 the rest of the way. She scored a career-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting. HAS MORE REBOUNDS 10-3 HAS LESS REBOUNDS 3-8 JENSEN SIGNS NLI REBOUNDS ARE EQUAL 0-0 Emery High School star and reigning Utah 3A State MVP Megan Jensen signed a National Letter of Intent with UVU in HIGHER SHOOTING PERCENTAGE 11-5 November. Jensen announced her signing in November at the Castle Dale, Utah high school. Jensen has led her team to back-to-back appearances in the final game of the Utah State Tournament, including a state championship during her LOWER SHOOTING PERCENTAGE 2-6 junior season in 2017-18. Both years the 6-foot-3 forward was named tournament MVP. She averaged 17.1 points and 8.8 FEWER TURNOVERS 5-4 rebounds per game as a junior on her way to earning State 3A MVP honors. MORE TURNOVERS 8-5 TURNOVERS ARE EQUAL 0-2 WBCA TOP 25 HONOR ROLL The 2017-18 Utah Valley University women’s basketball team landed on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s SCORES 59 POINTS OR LESS 4-6 (WBCA) Division I Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll with the nation’s 16th-ranked GPA. The Wolverines finished with a SCORES 60-69 POINTS 3-5 3.508 team cumulative GPA to sit among 19 Division I womens’ basketball programs with a 3.5 GPA or better. The honor marks the ninth time UVU has made the esteemed WBCA academic list under head coach Cathy Nixon in the squad’s NCAA SCORES 70-79 POINTS 4-0 DI era, with the team twice finishing No. 1 in the nation. Seals is the Wolverines’ career leader in games played and ranks third all-time with 1,513 OPPONENT SCORES 60-69 POINTS 3-4 career points after a successful four-year career that spanned 2014-18. Her 200 made 3-pointers is also a UVU career record.
