Lisbon became in the last 30 years, one of the most visited and popular destinations in , due to the economical development of , allied to the charming of the old quarters, historical monuments and to the friendly population.

This historical city founded on the XII century, offers a variety of contrasts: known as the City of the 7 hills, we can find the Moorish quarters, like and Castle, the historical and monumental quarter of Belem, with the representative monuments of the Portuguese discoveries, the old and charming center “Baixa”, and , cosmopolitan and shopping areas and the new quarters, like for instance the Park of Nations, where the World Exhibition Expo’98 took place.

Lisbon is nowadays, a busy and lively city and it is also one of the big cultural attractions in Europe, with interesting Museums, old cafes and taverns.

Queluz is a nearest town of Lisbon and has one of the most beautiful palaces in the area: the Queluz Palace!

Also called the National Palace is an eighteenth century palace located in the city of Queluz in municipality, Lisboa district. One of the last great buildings erected in Europe, the palace was built as a summer retreat for D. Pedro de Bragança, who would later be king consort and husband of his niece, Queen .

Belém Tower – an elegant fortress built in the River Tagus, dating from the begin of the 16th century, to protect the harbour and also to commemorate the departure of the ships to Africa, India and Brasil.

Monument to the Discoveries – this is a monument built in the 1940’s for an Exhibition that took place in Lisbon, representing several figures of the Portuguese history, related to the Odyssey of the Discoveries: The prince Henry the Navigator, the founder of the 1st school for sailors is the 1st one, represented in this monument.

Hieronymite Monastery considered the Jewel of the Manueline art only found in Portugal, built in the begin of the 16th Century.

In Belem we can also find the Old Pastry of Belém, dating from 1837. This pastry is a mark of the Lisbon life, where we can appreciate the original tiles that cover its walls, and taste the famous and traditional “Pastel de Nata”, a famous Lisbon speciality. (without reservations)

The Pombaline Downtown, dating from the 18th and 19th century, an achievement of the Marquis of Pombal, who undertook the enormous task of rebuilding the Lisbon centre carefully planned, with elegant remarkable streets

The Square which dominates the heart of the city, has been the nerve centre of Lisbon for six centuries, and is today a social focal point with cafés, bakeries, souvenir shops, jewellers and the National Theatre with a neo- classical structure.

The Rua Augusta is a lively pedestrian street, decorated with mosaic pavements and lined with boutiques and open air cafés. We also suggest a visit to The Hilltop “Bairro Alto”: old and fascinating late 16th century hilltop area with picturesque houses and narrow streets now exhibiting fashionable restaurants and bars. Sintra: a beautiful hill town, on the outskirts of Lisbon, is dotted with historic Palaces and surrounded by wooded hills. A tour in the Serra de Sintra is an amazing experience, where one discovers the beauty of its nature: dense forest, an incredible landscape of giant moss- covered boulders, with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Coast, the Tagus Estuary and beyond. The route then returns down along small country roads passing through hill villages and large estates.

Sintra a historical town declared World Heritage by the UNESCO, set in a valley amongst the mountains near Lisbon, which was traditionally the summer retreat of Portuguese Royalty; its wonderful palaces and fantastic flora have been an inspiration to poets and artists all over the world. Visit of the impressive National Royal Palace, which dominates Sintra.

Cabo da Roca (“Rock ”) : a rocky highland dropping abruptly in a 450ft cliff to the sea, being the westernmost point of the European continent.

Do Guincho magnificent coast and beaches

Cascais: once a small fishermen village, has grown in size and popularity in recent years to become one of the most attractive resorts on the capital's coastline. Portuguese kings and many exiled kings have lived in Cascais over the years. It is a sophisticated place with many elegant shops and a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.

Estoril: evolved from a small spa to an elegant town due to its preference by members of Royalty from several countries. Its proximity to Lisbon, its mild climate and attendance by aristocrats turned Estoril into an absolute “must” for visitors.
