  • February 26, 2021 Amazon Warehouse Workers In
February 26, 2021 Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama are voting to form a union with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Unions protect workers with essential rights and benefits. Most importantly, a union gives employees a seat at the table to negotiate fair pay, scheduling and more workplace policies. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. We strongly urge all Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer to VOTE UNION YES. Method Man, Snoop Dogg Drink to TBS Hosting Gigs 08.15.2017 Method Man and Snoop Dogg order cocktails and jump at the opportunity when the waitress offers them a bowl … of pretzels … in TBS' promo teasing the stars of two new shows coming this fall. Method Man, along with Hailey Baldwin, will host the comedic music competition series Drop the Mic, based on the popular segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden, where celebrities will put their battle rapping skills to the test. The series premieres Thursday, October 26 at 10 p.m. Corden, Ben Winston and Jensen Karp serve as executive producers, with Joanna Gallagher as co-executive producer. Snoop Dogg Presents The Joker's Wild features the entertainment icon hosting an updated version of the classic game show that he used to watch with his grandmother when he was a child. The reboot is set in his very own casino, complete with a larger-than-life slot machine, giant dice and playing cards. Streetwise questions and problem solving-not just book smarts-will rule the floor. The series are part of TBS' scheduled launch of 15 original series between now and 2018, following a brand rebuilt that led to a string of hits in 2016, including Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Angie Tribeca and Wrecked. "Last year, we broke away from the confines of traditional comedy series and pushed ourselves in new direction with six fresh and distinctive series that were unlike anything else on television," said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS, in a statement.

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES: SOCIOECONOMIC CLASS REPRESENTATION IN SITCOMS by ALEXANDRA HICKS A THESIS Presented to the School of Journalism and Communication and the Robert D. Clark Honors College in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Arts June 2014 A• Abstracto( the Thesis of Alexandra Hicks for 1he degree ofBachelor of Arts in the School of Journalism and Communication to be talcen June, 2014 Title: Keeping Up With the Jonescs: Socioeconomic Class Representation in Sitcoms Awroa:&~ This thesis examines the representation of socioeconomic class in situation comedies. Through the influence of the advertising industiy, situation comedies (sitcoms) have developed a pattem throughout history of misrepresenting ~ial class, which is made evident by their portrayals ofdifferent races, genders, and professions. To rectify the IKk ofprevious studies on modem comedies, this study analyzes socioeconomic class representation on sitcoms that have aired in the last JS years by taking a sample ofseven shows and comparing the estimated cost of characters' residences to the amount of money they would likely earn in their given profession. 1be study showed that modem situation comedies misrepresent socioeconomic class by portraying characters living in residences well beyond what they could afford in real life. Accurate demonstration ofsocioeconomic class on television is imperative be<:ause images presented on television genuinely influence viewers• perceptions of reality. Inaccurate portrayals ofclass could cause audiences to develop distorted views ofmember.; of socioeconomic classes and themselves. u Acknowledgements I would like to thank Professor Debra Merskin for inspiring me to examine television in an in-depth and critical manner.
