The simple in-flight fix is to reduce duct pressure by selecting CLB-2 and/or using engine and/or wing anti-ice. WING-BODY OVERHEAT indicates a leak in the corresponding bleed air duct. This is particularly serious if the leak is in the left hand side, as this includes the ducting to the APU. The wing- body overheat circuits may be tested by pressing the OVHT TEST switch; both wing-body overheat lights should illuminate after a minimum of 5 seconds. This test is part of the daily inspection. The above describes the 737 system, however the basics are the same on all aircraft.

he pneumatic system can be supplied by engines, APU or a ground source. The manifold is normally split by the T isolation valve. With the isolation valve switch in AUTO, the isolation valve will only open when an engine bleed air or pack switch is selected OFF. Air for engine starting, air conditioning packs, wing anti-ice and the hydraulic reservoirs comes from their respective ducts. Air for pressurization of the water tank and the aspirated TAT probe come from the left pneumatic duct. External air for engine starting feeds into the right pneumatic duct. Ground conditioned air feeds directly into the mix manifold. The minimum pneumatic duct pressure (with anti- ice off) for normal operation is 18psi. The pneumatic bleed air system now has an electronic controller in newer aircraft. This allows the aircraft to digitally tune the amount of air that is needed in whatever flight regime you’re in. This is different to the previous "all or nothing"

hristmas in Tahiti begins effective Thanksgiving Day each year at the WestWind Airline facility on the island C of Tahiti in French Polynesia. The airline does have scenery for the main airport on Tahiti, Faaa International Airport, Tahiti, (NTAA). Faaa is located a short distance from the Papeete (pronounced: Papy – et – tay). Pilots should be aware that the island is a French colony and the aviation regulations governing the islands are under French jurisdiction. French aviation law is modeled on US FAA requirements, uses metric information, and restricts the use of reverse thrust as its most notable differences. Tahiti's airport runway is longer than 10,000 feet and can support most any large super wide body aircraft, with the expectation that pilots will bring larger aircraft into Tahiti, the airport can support large aircraft with no real problems.

Ramp space for arriving, large body aircraft is on the Eastern side of the field providing ramp space for four to five large aircraft at one time.

The A airline had a policy which required the first officer to stand at the door while the Passengers exited, smile, and give them a "Thanks for flying our airline." He said that, in light of his bad landing, he had a hard time looking the passengers in the eye, thinking that someone would have a smart comment. Finally, everyone had gotten off except for a little old lady walking with a cane. She said, "Sir, do you mind if I ask you a question?" "Why, no, Ma'am," said the pilot. "What is it?" lerion Aviation flies and manages private jets for individuals who can afford to own their own private A planes — but may or may not know how, have time to maintain them, or fly them. As CEO of Alerion, Bob Seidel does his best to keep Alerion’s clients happy. Sometimes that means honoring some unusual (pricey) requests. Take this one for example: A client’s adult daughter was living in London and feeling a bit lonely for her kitty back home in Texas during the holidays. The client was too busy to make the trip to London but not too busy to drop the daughter’s feline friend off at her trusty G-4 jet (a 13-passenger Gulfstream). From there, the flight crew flew the unaccompanied cat all the way to London and delivered the kitty into the arms of her person. WOW… must be nice!

- Boeing 737 Max - ALLAS – Southwest Airlines has once again pushed back the return of its Boeing 737 Max jets as Boeing D tries to fix the aircraft following two deadly crashes. Southwest said Friday that it will keep its Max out of its schedule until March 6, about a month longer than previously planned, citing continued uncertainty. The airline says it’s monitoring information from Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration about software improvements and pilot-training requirements that will be part of returning the plane to flight. Without the planes, Southwest says it will cancel about 175

flights each weekday. Southwest had 34 Max planes when they were grounded in March and had expected more to be delivered this year.

Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 MAX aircraft are parked on the tarmac after being grounded, at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, California.

American Airlines announced it too would wait until March 2020 to put the plane back in service. Here is the company’s statement on the matter: “American Airlines remains in continuous contact with the

Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation and Boeing. Based on the latest guidance, American anticipates that the resumption of scheduled commercial service on American’s fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will occur March 5, 2020. Once the aircraft is certified, American expects to run exhibition flights, or flights for American team members and invited guests only, prior to March 5.”

cabin-flex version of the narrow-body’s A321 variant. The configuration allows airlines to choose between more seats or longer range by adding a new rear section and changing the door layout. The holdups come at a time when demand for the model is surging and with the rival Max idled after two fatal crashes. “We are focused on the A320neo ramp-up and improving the industrial flow while managing the higher level of complexity,” Chief Executive Officer Guillaume Faury said in the release.

That will be especially vital as the flex layout becomes standard on the A321 next year and Airbus builds more LR or long-range variants of the plane, as well as working toward production of an even further-flying XLR option. Airbus fell as much as 3.3% and was trading 2.5% lower at 122.62 euros as of 9:04 a.m. in Paris, paring gains this year to 47% and reducing the Toulouse, France-based plane maker’s market value to 96 billion euros ($107 billion). Boeing is up 8.2%. The European manufacturer’s assembly lines are being stretched as single-aisle output reaches a record 60 jets a month, rising to 63 by 2021. At the same time, the A321 has become the group’s top-seller with 81 orders through September, a third more than for the baseline A320.

irbus SE cut its full-year delivery target and said cash flow will be lower than expected as it struggles to A capitalize on the grounding of Boeing Co.’s 737 Max. The company now expects to hand over about 20 fewer jets than it previously forecast as production challenges slow output of A320neo-series aircraft, it said in a statement Wednesday. The free cash flow goal was cut by a quarter. Airbus has struggled to keep up with demand for the so-called
