BATHUKAMMA

As the college is situated in the Telangana state, every year “BATHUKAMMA” festival is celebrated in the college. “Bathukamma” is a floral festival which is celebrated as part of Shathavahana calendar for nine days. On this auspicious day all the women come in traditional attire. In this event all the faculty members along with the students perform Bathukamma dance in a traditional manner. The pots are decorated with flowers to represent “Bathukamma” or Goddess Parvathy and floated on the shallow open water tank in front of the college campus.

TRADITIONAL DAY Our institution celebrated a traditional day on 4th October 2019. All faculty and students came in traditional attire.

DANDIYA CELEBRATIONS

The college students and faculty members celebrated Dandiya every year in the college campus on the open lawn. On this day the students and faculty members come in Traditional attire and come with Dandiya sticks and enjoy the day.

KRISHNA ASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS

The College celebrated Krishna Ashtami in the campus. Krishna Ashtami is a festival that marks the birth of Lord Krishna. Every year students and staff celebrate Krishna Ashtami in the campus. Celebrate the day with Krishna Pooja and students break the Dahi Handi which is a part of this festival.

PONGAL CELEBRATIONS Pongal is one of the most popular harvest festivals of . Pongal falls in the mid-January every year and marks the auspicious beginning of Uttarayan - sun's journey northwards. Our students celebrated Pongal in a traditional way by preparing ‘Pongal’ in mud pot with all religious traits and performed special Pooja. All the boys and girls in dhotis and Sarees depicted our cultural way of dressing.

TECHFEST & ANNUAL DAY(2019-20)

The institute has taken many extra efforts to provide a very inclusive environment for the students and faculties as well. This initiative was taken to exhibit towards technical and cultural events. Each department organized tech fest was the students exhibited their projects that meet the society needs and requirements. Students of various departments participated in different technical events to show their talents.

To honor , National Youth Day is celebrated every year on 12th January. The Government felt that the philosophy of Vivekananda and his ideals are a great source of inspiration for the Indian youth. So, it was declared that his birthday will be observed as “National Youth Day”.

The youth of today on this occasion should strive to be better than the past and set an example for the future generations so that they too can benefit and learn from the great teacher himself. Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come Great work - Swami Vivekananda. “Be good. Do good”. SIIET celebrated “YOUTH DAY” with a group students and staff who performed acts on “Important Episodes of Swami Vivekananda”.

CONSTITUTION DAY IN SIIET(2019-20)

On the occasion of the 72th anniversary on 26th Nov 2019 marking the adoption of the Constitution of India, a program was organized by Department of CSE for creating awareness among the students regarding the fundamental duties as put forth by the Indian Constitution.

As per the program, Preamble to the Indian Constitution was read out for the students in attendance followed by a deliberation by Prof R. Yadagiri Rao, on the importance of fundamental duties. The principal emphasized on the virtues of awareness regarding various facets of the Constitution. The students also participated in a debate regarding the current situation of the Indian Government and Constitution.

TELANGANA FORMATION DAY(2019-20)

Telangana Day commonly known as Telangana Formation Day. The day was celebrated in the college on 3rd June 2019. The Principal Dr.I.Sathyanarayana delivered the history and traditions of Telangana to the students and Faculties also. The event was held at auditorium hall.

A REPORT ON EDUCATION FOR EVERY ONE The principal said few words on Education for Everyone if we want to live in a peaceful and happy society we should provide children, with good education. He reiterated that everyone should try to encourage children who are in need of our support, in need of books and teachers. He said that each student in his free time must teach the needy students who cannot afford good education. He gave some quotes on education. There are Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope. Education is the most powerful weapon with which you can change the world. Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world. He also gave some slogans on education. Education makes a door to bright future. And education is the one of the birth rights of children. Closing his speech he made the participants promise that they would educate every child in his neighborhood.

JUNIOR /YOUTH RED CROSS FEST-2020

Sri Indu Institute of Engineering & Technology students under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit has participated in the events in the junior /youth red cross fest on 17thJanuary 2020 that was organized by the Indian red cross society on the occasion of the completion of 100 years. The Indian Red Cross Society was constituted 100years ago on 20th March 1920.THE volunteers have dedicated for the cause the nation through commitment towards humanity to make people’s lives better. As a part of the 100years celebration, several cultural programmes were held which include that traditional classical dance like Barathanatyam and .

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY(2019-2020) The International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June at the campus in peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice that needs to be carried every day; this was a great opportunity to imbibe the value of this discipline. The session was attended by a limited number of Students, faculty and staff with the Principal leading from the front. The students unfortunately could not join the event as they were away on vacation. Most of the faculty was on vacation too.

The principal Dr. I. Satyanarayana started this programme with great enthusiasm and he said that our life continues until we breathe in and out. We owe our existence to the plant kingdom. Plants provide food to all terrestrial living beings. But no other organism can deplete the green cover like us. Plants not only absorb carbon dioxide but also other polluting gases like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrous oxides. Trees are home to many birds, insects, and animals. They help in increasing the groundwater level and also prevent floods and landslides. Trees make the surroundings naturally cool and give an aesthetic look. GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS(2018-19)

The leadership quality of a great personality can be understood from the above quote. Also to understand the teachings of the great personality a session was conducted at SIIET on Leadership of Mahatma Gandhi by Dr. I.Satyanarayana, Principal on 3rd October 2018. The session started with some wonderful quotes of Mahatma Gandhi.

The session then gained momentum when the Principal talked about the leadership learning from the great leader. He also emphasized that due to his leadership qualities we could achieve the freedom. This man would be remembered for the decades to come. Students understood the leadership qualities needed to be a great leader in future. After the session, an elocution competition was conducted in which around 30 students participated.

TRADITIONAL DAY(2018-19)

SIIET college celebrated one of the most anticipated day of the year, i.e., Traditional Day. The traditional day was held on the 18th of February 2019 at the college campus. Traditional Day is observed as a celebration of India’s diverse culture, and is usually relaxed day at work. It’s a day designated for people to come in traditional attire from their home state, or specific culture of their choice. Everyone at the college came dressed in their best ethnic attires. Students, faculty and non-teaching staff participated with great ecstasy. Everyone displayed their various cultures by dressing their best which was a colorful treat to the eyes in itself. The atmosphere everywhere as of joy and celebration as from our busy schedule.

Every year, an annual technical fest is conducted at the SIIET campus by all the branches among students and staff. Today, technology takes many forms. The cardinal events of the fest are the paper and project presentations, wherein the leading young minds of college publicly share their ideas and solutions to everyday problems. INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY(2018-19)

International Day of Yoga or commonly known as Yoga Day, is celebrated on 21st June every year since its inception in 2015. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice originated in Bharat or India.

Keeping up with the spirits of the nation in celebrating the Yoga Day, Sri Indu Institute of Engineering and Technology organized a Special Yoga Camp on 21st June, 2018 in view of International Day of Yoga. More than 100 participants including Faculty, staff members and students attended the camp conducted by a yoga expert.

The celebrations of the 4th International Yoga Day at campus were graced by the presence of Principal of the institute, Dr. I. Sathyanarayana, followed by other faculty, staff members and students. Organizer welcomed the participants to the event and put light on how Yoga plays such an important role in our day to day lifestyle. The yoga expert taught some important physical, mental, and spiritual practices to the participants who would help the participants in improving their health by increasing blood flow and boosting immunity. GRAM SWACHH(2018-19)

As part of the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission” initiated by government of India, students of SIIET had organized and participated in “Swachh Gram Abhiyaan’ in sheriguda village, Rangareddy. Students and staff began the cleanliness drive from SIIET college campus to sheriguda. After cleaning the surroundings the people were given awareness on the Dos and Don’ts on how to maintain surroundings clean. Students and staff cleaned the surroundings and educated people about the harmful deceases like malaria and dengue that are caused due to stagnant water and told them to segregate dry and wet waste. Gram panchayat chairman and people living in the village said that initiatives have been taken up to uplift the present situation and promised to keep the village clean.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS (2017-18)

SIIET institution witnessed the celebration of the 69th Republic Day on the 26th January, 2018. Students, Staff and Faculty members filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication gathered in front of the building. The celebration started with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, Dr. I. Sathyanarayana. In his speech, the he highlighted the importance of the Constitution and its unique features such as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic enshrined in the preamble of the constitution. The speech was followed by the National Anthem, giving a glimpse of the diversity in unity of the nation and the Guard of Honour. The program ended with the message to create a great nation through collective efforts from all individual. Sweets were distributed among all the guests.

TECHNICAL FEST (2017-2018) A technical fest is a festival organized by engineering colleges to host events related to various technical aspects of what they learn. It is a means for students to showcase their practical talent in the field they’re learning, and not just limit themselves to bookish knowledge. Each branch – Civil, mechanical, computers, electronics, etc can have its own version of technical events/fests testing the participants on the knowledge and applications of that field. Students of SIIET have presented their skills by showcasing several projects related to their learning knowledge and made the event very successful.

A REPORT ON AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON CHILDREN RIGHTS:

Noble Awardee Kailash Satyarthi interacted with students of Sri Indu Engineering College at its campus in Sheriguda on Wednesday. While addressing the students he said that the future of the country lies in their own hands and remember that the same and act accordingly. Kailash reiterated that injustice being meted out to 53 percent of boys and girls across the world and they were being denied their rights. He offered a three D victory formula to the students, dream, discovery and do. College Chairman R Venkat Rao announced the renaming of college auditorium Kailash Satyarthi on the occasion. Director, Centre for good governance, J Deviprasad, Secretary Anush Chakravarthy and the Chairman felicitated Kailash Satyarthi. Sri Indu Institute of Engineering & Technology– NSS cell has organized “ Harita Haaram” in college campus on 20th July,2017.The Tree Plantation started with our Chairman Mr.R Venkat Rao, Chairman of Sri Indu Institutions, Mr.R.Anoop Chakravarthi Secretary & correspondent , Dr.I.Satyanarayana, Principal and All HOD s and students of SIIET along with NSS Volunteers participated in this program. The program was launched by Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao on 3 July 2015. It is one of the Telangana Flagship programmes to rejuvenate degraded forests, protecting these forests from threats such as smuggling, encroachment, fire and grazing. It adopted intensive soil and moisture conservation measures based on a watershed approach.

In the areas outside the existing forest, massive planting activities were to be taken up in areas such as; road-side avenues, river and canal banks, barren hills and foreshore areas, institutional premises, religious places, housing colonies, community lands, municipalities and industrial parks. The National Forest Policy of India envisages a minimum of 33% of the total geographical area under forest cover to maintain environmental stability and ecological balance, which is vital for the sustenance of all life-forms, be it human or animal.

Telangana government decided to grandly celebrate Bathukamma festival in the state. Bathukamma, a prominent festival prior to Dussehra, is a historic celebration highlighting the importance of women in society. It represents the cultural spirit of the state and is celebrated by performing of Goddess Gauri. The Bathukamma festival 2017 began from Sept. 20. Bathukamma is the second largest festival after Dasara in Telangana state. All the volunteers from of SIIET both faculty and students have participated in Bathkuamma celebrations on 28th September at the SIIET campus. The volunteers all dressed in traditional attire and made the campus atmosphere traditional and attracted danced to the songs played on Bathkuamma.

NSS ACTIVITY ORGANISED REPORT ACADEMIC YEAR 2016-17 TECHNICAL FEST (2016-2017) SIIET conducted annual technical festival that is organized on a grand scale. This provides an occasion for the students to display their knowledge and innovations in the field of technology. On this occasion, various technical events like paper presentation, quiz, etc are organized. Technical experts are invited, who apart from judging the best talent in all the activities enrich the students with their valuable inputs for the budding engineers to excel in their academic and professional lives and serve the nation.

International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and faculty at The campus Yoga hall with great enthusiasm. Students and faculty performed different yoga ‘’. Yoga brings balance between body, soul and mind. It helps us to understand the purpose of life and how to survive in the changing environment.

The college celebrated traditional day where group of students wore different outfits - such as Punjabi costumes like kurtas, or traditional attire. The youngsters could be seen clicking photos, and enjoying various programmes. The atmosphere in the campus is appeared to be colourful with rangoli.

BONALU (2015-2016)

Students of SIIET celebrated Bonalu festival in a grand manner, by offering food to the deity, at a Goddess Mahankali in our college. WE cooked a variety of sweets, savories, rice and curries and offered it as worship to the deity. Decking themselves as Pothuraju and other typical Telangana characters, they played the drums and danced to Teen Maar beats.

TECHNICAL FEST(2015-2016) Every college is marked by its several events which include its annual social gathering. Every year we celebrate annual social gathering of SIIET in the name of technical fest which includes host of events where students are provided a platform to think, step forward and showcase their hidden skills and talent. These events have their own color and they are very splendid in their own skills. Students showcased their projects and JAM sessions, quiz were conducted.

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATIONS (2015-16)

ANNUAL DAY was celebrated in SIIET campus which organized an event of gave away the prizes to the toppers and the awards to the best students in their academic performance.
