Jamkhed, Dist. Ahmednagar, Department of Geography, University of Pune, M.S, India. , ABSTRACT: The land of Maharashtra was bless by the holy of many great Saint's and spiritual leaders. The pilgrims town attract large number of pilgrims for various parts of country because message of Saibaba, history of town and local facility etc. The study is based on primary and secondary data with the help of questionnaire and random sample survey of 310 pilgrims have been interviewed at the time of Guru Pournima celebrated in the temple of saibaba. The factor wise level of satisfaction is calculated. The result was satisfaction index are accommodation 6.96, darshan facility 6.93, Food and drinking water 6.83 and last satisfaction index and rank personal safety 4.80. KEYWORDS: Shirdi, Satisfaction Index, Facility. INTRODUCTION: Tourism is a basic and most desirable human activity deserving the praise and encouragement of all people and of all governments. It is an industry concerned with attracting people to a destination transporting them their; housing, feeding and entertaining them open arrival and returning them to their homes. Thus, tourism is a highly complex phenomenon. It is important human activity of great significance. In addition to economic significance. It has socio- cultural, educational and political significance as well. As a mass phenomenon of an essentially social nature, tourism can no longer be view as a foreign activity. Both in the use it makes of time, space and relationship with the production of goods and services. Tourism has become one of the pivotal concerns of nations and of the international community. The western part of India has a beautiful coastline has natural and historical places, which can be developed has tourist points. The western part of MahaTastra in Ahmadnagar district contrasting and beautiful tourist centers are fast growing. These centers are of different types some religious centers like Shirdi, Sakuri, Shani Shingnapur, Belhekarwadi, Newasa, Devgad, Madhi, Siddhateke, etc. STUDY AREA: Shirdi is a city & municipal council situated in Rahata Taluka in Ahmednagar district in State of Maharashtra. It falls on Ahmednagar Manmad State High Way (No. 10) at 82 km away from Ahmednagar & 15 Km from Kopargaon, 96 Km from Nashik & 80 Km from Shani Shinganapur. Shirdi is situate in Rahata Taluka to its North Kopargaon & West direction to Sangamner, Akole Taluka, East direction Shrirampur, Newasa & South direction Rahuri Taluka. Rahata Taluka total area is 60,411 Ha. & total villages 60 & total population 2, 88,003 But Shirdi situated in Rahata taluka. Shirdi Tourism Centre total area of 1298.40 ha. & Total population 36004 (2011) & its geographical location of Shirdi at 19 0 45’ North latitude and 74 0 25’ East longitude. Volume VIII, Issue III, March/2019 Page No:242 International Journal of Research ISSN NO:2236-6124 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this paper is to compare the level of satisfaction for pilgrim’s tourist in Shirdi tourism place. DATABASE AND METHODOLOGY: The researcher has collected data through field survey using questionnaire of random sampling lottery selection method. With the help of questionnaires researcher interviewed 310 pilgrims in Shirdi, The data obtained convert into numerical values for e.g. 08 to 10 for excellent, 06 to 08 for good, 04 to 06 for satisfaction and 00 to 04 for unsatisfied. Where they obtained values used for calculating satisfaction index using following formula. Σ M i x N i Sli= N Where Sli: Satisfaction Index for 'i' factor Mi: Numerical value for particular level of satisfaction for the i factor Ni: No of respondent driving the particular level of satisfaction for the i Factor N: Total no of respondents for that factor for ail level of satisfaction. SATISFACTION INDEX OF TOURIST: Developments of any tourist place have been need of pilgrim's opinion about the facilities, at the tourist place with the help of questionnaires a sample survey have conducted and filled up by 310 pilgrims. Level of satisfaction is state of mind and there is no universal accepted to measure it however here an attempt is made to access the same by adopting the certain statistical methods. 9 important factor which influence the level of satisfaction are identify and to be seen from the table no 1- the pilgrim tourist were asked to indicate the level of satisfaction as they derived in respect of each factor by stating excellent, good, satisfactory, unsatisfied. Therefore, the level of satisfaction of the pilgrims is very high level. Only 8.31% of pilgrim told that facilities are not satisfactory. These average values is use to calculate satisfaction index and rank are given to those factors, which indicated the priority of the factor, first satisfaction index is for accommodation facility as 6.96-second index and rank for Darshan facility as 6.93. The 22.25% visitors come from various parts of Maharashtra and 77.25% visitors various parts of India. (M.P. state 40 visitors, G.J. state 35 visitors, R.J. state 22 visitors, Punjab 22 and Goa 11 visitors, other state 95 visitors) CONCLUSION: Shirdi is one of the important pilgrim's destinations in India due to Shri Saibaba Samadhi Mandir. It is observe that the flow of pilgrims is continuously increasing because of various facilities provided. The level of satisfaction of pilgrim by noting their views about the facilities provided to them is accesses. The factor wise satisfaction index is calculate in which accommodation get 6.96, second Darshan facility 6.93, and third food and drinking water facility 6.83 and last rank for personal safety i.e. 4.80. Improvement of roads, transport, and control of traffic jams and pilgrims expect other facility like drainage system pollution etc. Controlled the thefts and pick picketers. Change in the behavior of local people's must be 'Atithi Devo Bhava" and last change to stop the chain system of agent and commission.
