Baby Naming Ceremony On 5.12.2018 Naming Ceremony for two babies was held at Damrughutu village, Ananda Nagar. On this occasion there was three hours Akhanda Kiirtan and collective lunch served to 500 well-wishers. Page 2 Inauguration of new Dam A new dam with bridge at Dimdiha-Ghagra Village of Ananda Nagar was inaugurated on 8th December. Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of Jhalda Sub Division of Purulia District and BDO of Joypur Block of Purulia District presided over this event. The inauguration started with collective sadhana in the early hours of the day. The SDO and BDO distributed 300 blankets to the nearby villagers and finally everyone took part in collective meal. The accumulated water will be useful for agriculture. Three hours Akhanda Kiirtan Three hours Akhanda Kiirtan held on 9th December at Patamjuri Village of Ananda Nagar with collective meal. Page 3 Jangal Mahal Festival Jangal Mahal Festival in Joypur was organised by the Joypur Block Development Office of Purulia District on 11th December. Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha of Ananda Nagar was invited to perform at the cultural programme at this local festival. RAWA (Renaissance Artists and Writers Association) Uma Nivas Girls’ High School presented two songs and four dances of Prabhat Samgiita. The audience appreciated the excellent performances. Page 4 Saplings of Farm Department Ananda Nursery of the Ananda Marga Farm Department has many varieties of saplings of flowers and fruit trees which are available for sale now. Education Training Camp Education Training Camp for Ananda Marga Primary School teachers was held from 16th to 19th December at Ananda Nagar. Prof. Sobhen Duyai,Teacher in Charge of Vijay Pal Memorial B.Ed College was a special guest giving a presentation. Prof. Samiranjan Adhikari, Education Department of Sidhu Kanoh Birsa University of Purulia gave a presentation on Education Psychology and Dr. Somnath Roy, Principal District Institute of Education & Training, Purulia presented a session on Creative Learning. The participants were inspired by the informative and useful classes. Page 5 Workers Relief Camp Workers Relief Camp was held from 21st to 25th December. The camp for men was held at Ananda Nagar and for women at Kotshila. The daily routine included warm ups, PT exercises, parade, martial arts, games and collective Svaccha Bharat (clean India) social services. Page 6 Visit of Margiis and Chilren Home girls Margiis from Norway, Kolkata and Children Home girls of Tatanagar visited Dimdiha-Ghagra check dam, Dead Volcano and Nava Cakra cave on 25th, 26th December 2018. Dharma Maha Sammelan (DMS) Dharma Maha Smmelan was held at Ananda Nagarfrom 29th to 31th December. 72 hours Akhanda Kiirtan was held from 28yh evening to 31st evening and Margiis participated with full devotion. Margiis came from all over the world.Many Margiis visited the renowned and historical places like Asti Hill, Nava Cakra cave, ancientJain temple at Deulghata, the birth place of the first philosopher Kapil near Jhalda etc. A free kitchen served food for about 9000 persons. 300 blankets were distributed at the surrounding villages of Ananda Nagar. Page 7 A medical station was set up near the pandal (huge congregation tent) by Abha Seva Sadan and many villagers and participants benefited. Charming Prabhat Samgiita Cultural programmes by Music College Uma Nivas were staged on all the three evenings. Discourses of MGR on all the 3 days were inspiring the gatherings. The undersigned is directed by order of the Governor to state that consequent upon creation of the Jhalda Sub-Division in the district of Purulia vide Notification No.100-ARlP/2R-211999 dated 30th March, 2017 of Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms and e-Governance, establishment of a full-fledged treasury in that Sub-Division was under active consideration ofthis Government. 2. Vide this office Memo No. 4936-F(Y)/WB dated 06.l2.2017 and Land & Land Reforms and Refugee Relief & Rehabilitation Department's Memo. No. 230-EsttlFA/O/2M/81117(NB)(Pt.-II), dated 19.01.2018, necessary posts have already been created for the new treasury to be set up at Jhalda. 3. The undersigned is further directed by order of the Governor to state that the Governor is pleased to set up a new treasury in the ground floor of the office building of Jhalda Sub-Division. The said Treasury will commence work from the rtApril, 2018. The jurisdiction of the new treasury shall be coterminous with the jurisdiction of the Jhalda Sub-Division. 4. The State Bank of India, Jhalda Branch shall act as the agency bank in respect of the new treasury. Necessary clearance has already been received from RBI, Kolkata in this regard. 5. Presently, 35 numbers of Drawing and Disbursing Officers of different Govt. Offices and LF/PFD/Deposit Account operators as listed in Annexure-I and 11 respectively having their offices located within the jurisdiction of the Jhalda Sub-Division shall be brought under the control of the Jhalda Treasury.

Since its inception, the Council has been endeavouring incessantly in accomplishing its mandate with profound sagacity of commitment for a spirit of coordination and consensus among various stakeholders in the field of higher education. Working in tandem with the State government for an inclusive and qualitative growth in higher education, the Council has been performing as catalyst to extend all possible support in addressing three overarching challenges: excellence, equity and expansion. The activities performed in the areas of planning and coordination, academic and advisory functions are listed in this report. The Council is also instrumental in the formation of new academic institutions, expanding and upgrading the existing ones, recommending institutions that are self-reliant in terms of quality education, professionally managed, and characterized by greater inclination towards research and provide students with edification that is relevant to them as well the nation as a whole.
