This showcase, now in its fourth year, is a great way to see singer-songwriters perform in intimate settings on Captiva Island, Fort Myers Beach and historic downtown Fort Myers. This year’s headliners include Lindsay Ell and Brooke Eden. The artists will be performing at Pinchers Crab Shack at The Marina at Edison Ford on Sept. 27. Ell has opened for The Band Perry and Luke Bryan, and is currently on tour with Brad Paisley. The Canadian Country Music Association recently nominated Ell for Female Artist of the Year. Her debut single, “Worth the Wait,” was recently released in the U.S. Eden is a Florida native and graduate of the University of Florida. She has opened for Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Sugarland and Florida Georgia Line. Billboard Music recognized Eden as a “fiery country star-in-the-making.” Some of her accolades include being identified as an Amazon Music Artist to watch. Country Aircheck got the consensus on last night’s (4/19) 50th ACM Awards from some folks in radio. KFDI/Wichita APD Carol Hughes: I about fell off my sofa when they opened the show with “Pledge Allegiance To The Hag.” They included songs that would never be on an awards show. Jason Aldean’s medley was fantastic. I loved the Milestone Awards. Those artists were not just brought onstage as a courtesy but they were showcased in a wonderful way and given a huge spotlight to show just why they were Milestone winners. -

I ran the PG list as normal, using Mediabase 24/7 for all CA/Mediabase reporting stations for the two-week period Aug. 23-Sept. 5, 2009. I figure with the start of the fall book just a couple weeks away, it’s a great time to make sure your Power Gold list is polished to a high gloss. I just finished up my part of recording the new Gospel CD and now the rest of the work for the CD cover, etc has to be done. I really enjoyed recording these special songs because it brought back memories of singing in church with my fami- ly. My Mom and Dad led the singing at our church and often my brother, Eddie, and me would sing a duet. I also sang a lot with my sister, Virginia (Gina) and my sister, Mary Lois. I hope you’ll love these songs as much as I do and I can’t wait for you to hear it. I’ll let you know just as soon as we know a release date.
