Casual Attire: khakis or good , cargo or , , turtleneck, casual button- down shirt and/or for men; , long or short , khakis or good jeans, shorts, polo shirt, turtleneck, casual button-down for women. Business Casual Attire: slacks with open collared shirt and sweater or sports for men; slacks with blouse, skirt and blouse, or pants for women. *Comfortable walking and rain gear are suggested for the entire Reunion. 5. Bus Transportation • Bus transportation is suggested for all from the Thayer Hotel to the events on West Point. Please indicate on registration how many from your group will be using the bus. • If you are staying off post, please plan to drive to West Point during the morning and park at Buffalo Solider Field to catch the bus from the Thayer Hotel. • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure to begin boarding the buses. • Buses will depart once full. • We will have multiple buses for each bus movement, please do not leave your belongings on the bus as you may not come back to the same bus. • For those staying at the Hampton Inn, there will be bus transportation provided from the Hampton Inn to West Point for the evening social events only. As of 5/7/19 Class of 1959 – 60th Reunion Post-Details • Sunday Evening Hampton Inn Bus • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure to begin boarding the buses. • Buses will depart once full. o All buses will depart the Hampton Inn at 5:30pm from the front entrance of the Hampton Inn and will return approximately 9:30pm. o A WPAOG staff member will check your name off the list. • Monday Bus to Reunion Events o All buses depart the Thayer Hotel at 10:00am for the Memorial Service at the Cadet Chapel. o After the Memorial Service, all buses will take reunion guests to the Class Lunch at Kimsey Athletic Center. o After the Academy & WPAOG Update Brief at approximately 3:00 pm, reunion attendees will board the buses and either shuttle around West Point or return to the Thayer Hotel. The shuttle around West Point includes stops at the Review Stands, Library Corner, and Herbert Alumni Center. o If attending the Organ Recital at 3:30pm, the bus will make stops at the Cadet Chapel between 3:15pm and 4:00pm only. • Monday Evening Hampton Inn Bus • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure to begin boarding the buses. • Buses will depart once full. o All buses will depart the Hampton Inn at 5:30pm from the front entrance of the Hampton Inn and will return approximately 9:30pm. o A WPAOG staff member will check your name off the list. • Tuesday Bus to Reunion Events o All buses depart Buffalo Soldier Field at 9:30am for the Cadet Review. o After the lunch in the Cadet Mess Hall, at approximately 1:30 pm, reunion attendees will board buses by MacArthur’s State which is near the Superintendent’s House. The bus will stop at South Dock for those attending the Hudson River Cruise, Buffalo Soldier Field, Thayer Hotel, and the West Point Cemetery. o At 3:00pm, a bus will pick up those at the West Point Cemetery and drop off at the Thayer Hotel. o At 3:30pm, buses will pick up those at South Dock and drop off at the Thayer Hotel. • Tuesday Evening Hampton Inn Bus • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure to begin boarding the buses. • Buses will depart once full. o All buses will depart the Hampton Inn at 5:30pm from the front entrance of the Hampton Inn and will return approximately 9:30pm. o A WPAOG staff member will check your name off the list.

Extra Class Reunion Memorabilia • Orders were due by March 16. • If attending the reunion and placing your order online, when you get to the “Member Checkout” screen, select “In-Store Pickup” as your Shipping Option. In-store pick up is the same as picking up at the reunion. • You will receive your items at the reunion (May 18-20). The pick-up schedule is listed on the reunion agenda. • If not attending the reunion, orders will be mailed after the reunion. 10. Confirmation of Registration • When you complete registration by submitting your credit card information, you will receive a confirmation message in your web browser. You will also receive this same confirmation in an email to the email address you used to register. Please keep this confirmation for your records; however, you will not need it to check-in for the Reunion. The subject of the confirmation email is “Class of 1959 Registration Acknowledgement” and the sender is “WPAOG, Alumni Events [email protected],” so if you are having trouble locating your confirmation, you can do a search of those key words. Entering West Point • Starting June 7, 2016, visitors 17 years of age and above without a valid (not expired) Department of Defense issued identification card must report to the Visitor Control Center at 2107 New South Post Road, West Point N.Y. 10996 to conduct a NCIC-III background check prior to entering the installation in accordance with DOD Directive 2014-05. • All visitors without a valid DOD ID card must present a valid form of identification to enter West Point during the time of the reunion May 19-22. If you do not have an approved license, you will be required to show another valid form of identification, such as a passport, to enter post. • If you will be entering West Point before a Reunion check-in and do not already have a DOD ID card, we recommend that you sign-up for a Grad Pass. This must be done at least 3 business days prior to your arrival. Lost & Found • If you find an item at the Reunion, please either take it to the front desk at the Thayer Hotel/Hampton Inn or to the WPAOG staff at the Reunion check-in tables – if you have a Class Facebook page, please take a picture of the item and tell your Class where you are turning it in. • If you lose an item, please check your Class Facebook page and at the WPAOG Reunion check-in table or the Thayer Hotel/Hampton Inn front desk. • Any items turned in to WPAOG that remain lost at the end of the Reunion will be shipped back to the owner at their expense. 16. Parking on West Point • Parking passes are not issued to visitors except on football game Saturdays. • Parking is extremely limited in the Central Post area of West Point, the vicinity of the academic buildings and barracks. Parking in this area requires a staff/faculty parking decal. • Parking is generally available in the following areas: Buffalo Soldier Field, old PX parking lot (near the cemetery, K Lot on the West Point Map), Visitors Center (West Point Museum Parking), and in the vicinity of Gillis Field House. • The SMURFF (Shuttle Movement of Uniformed members, Residents, Family and Faculty) is available Monday-Friday from 7:00am-6:00pm. The bus picks up and drops off at Buffalo Soldier Field, Thayer/Cullum Road, Mahan Tunnel, Library Corner, Clinton/Cullum Lot, Thayer Statue, Building 667A, Building 618, Washington/Buckner Road, Keller Hospital, and the Post . Register (How To and Important Dates) • Click on “REGISTER” at the top of the Reunion website or “Online Registration” beside Step 2. • Attendees Tab o Enter your first and last name below Attendee 1. o Select + Add attendee if you will have a guest(s) with you. o After you’ve added all your guests, select Continue. • Select events Tab o Select the Attend button next to the Class Reunion. Registration & Guest Fee • All graduates will receive fedora hat and registered widows, spouses/significant others will receive a canvas tote with their Reunion registration. • There are 3 Registration Fee Types: o Graduate Registration Fee ($145) o Widow Registration Fee ($0) o Spouse and Significant Other Registration Fee ($30) o Guest Registration Fee ($6) includes other family or friends of the Class of 1959 attending the Reunion 23. Reunion Events in chronological order (for times and locations – see the agenda) o Sunday/Monday/Tuesday Class Dinner o Seating will be open on Sunday evening, but assigned by cadet company on Monday and Tuesday. o On Monday and Tuesday, please pick up your place card before taking seats in the Grant/Bradley Room (seating by Cadet Company). The wait-staff will call tables to the buffet. o On Tuesday evening, we have a special musical performance starting at 8:00pm by the West Point Band. o Monday Bus Shuttles around West Point o Places to visit will be provided in a Welcome Brochure provided at Reunion check-in. o Tuesday Alumni Exercises & Cadet Review o Weather Decision ▪ Is usually made three (3) hours prior to the review. ▪ If the review is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be on an announcement on the installation’s information phone line. As of 5/7/19 Class of 1959 – 60th Reunion Post-Details ▪ Reunion buses will be delayed until the time listed in [ ] on the Reunion schedule. ▪ Class Aides and WPAOG staff will notify the front desk at the Thayer Hotel/Hampton Inn of any changes. ▪ All other activities will take place as scheduled on Tuesday. o Alumni Exercises ▪ The wreath laying ceremony at Thayer Statue. ▪ Graduates assemble near Eisenhower’s statue on Thayer Walk. Graduates then march across diagonal walk in columns of four to Thayer Statue. ▪ Only graduates and ex-Cadets are authorized to march in the Alumni Exercises. Guests will sit in the Review Stands, specific class section is listed on the Reunion schedule. ▪ For those graduates who do not wish to assemble on Thayer Walk before the Exercises, you may sit in the review stands (specific section listed on the Reunion schedule) until the Cadets are on the field and then walk onto the field from the bleachers to reduce the amount of standing time. ▪ For those that wish to assemble on Thayer Walk before the Review, please note that the total standing time is approximately 2 hours (including Parade time). Some folding chairs will be available on the parade field. o Cadet Review ▪ Graduates will initially sit in the first few rows of the bleachers with their guests. They will then walk onto the parade field from their seats. ▪ Graduates are on the reviewing line next to their class guidon. Only graduates and ex- Cadets are authorized on the Plain. Guests will sit in the Review Stands, specific class section is listed on the Reunion schedule. ▪ Veterans, retirees, and active-duty military not in uniform can render a military-style hand salute during the playing of the national anthem, and during the raising, lowering or passing of the National flag. ▪ There are no tickets for the Cadet Review. ▪ Graduates who cannot stand or walk for long periods are encouraged to use a wheelchair or sit in the bleachers with their spouse/guests. The Cadet Review is normally 50 minutes. o Tuesday Class Photo o Photo will be taken in the Review Stands after the Cadet Review and include all Graduates. o Photos will be shipped after the Reunion. o Prices on the registration form include shipping and handling. o The photo is 8”x32”. The matted and framed photo is 14”x38”. o Tuesday Alumni Lunch o The meal is served at 12:15 pm (Tuesday). ▪ After the parade and class photo, go directly to the mess hall to your designated wing and fill tables 11 people per table back to front to make sure we have room for all those registered for this event with their guests. As of 5/7/19 Class of 1959 – 60th Reunion Post-Details ▪ Please leave tables closest to the isles (Tuesday) open for classmates and guests who may have mobility issues. ▪ Please listen to announcements in the mess hall and help your classmates and their guests find empty seats. Table commandants be prepared to raise your hand if you have empty seats at your table. o The meal is still served “family-style,” the way you remember as a cadet. o The menu will be determined four weeks before the Reunion. o A Cadet has been requested to sit at each table, so though the tables have place settings for 12, only 11 Reunion attendees will be seated at each table. o Tuesday Cemetery Visit o After the Alumni Luncheon, buses will drop off at the West Point Cemetery. Buses will pick up at 3:00pm in the same place they dropped you off. A map of ’59 deceased graduates buried at the Cemetery will be provided. o Tuesday Hudson River Cruise o We will have two boats for our tour: Superintendent’s Ferry Boat and the Q-Boat. Boats are first-come, first-serve. The Superintendent’s Ferry Boat is the larger of the two boats. o The ship will board between 1:30pm and 1:50pm and depart at 2:00 pm. o Bus shuttles will leave by MacArthur’s State near the Superintendent’s House after the Alumni Luncheon in the Mess Hall. o If you plan to drive, please arrive early and park at South Dock. o WPAOG staff members will meet you at the dock to check you in for the cruise. o Open flames and smoking are not permitted on USMA vessels. o Boat ride takes place rain or shine. o For those in wheelchairs - the ship has a ramp for access to the upper deck of the ferryboat. The angle of the ramp depends on the tide at the time of boarding. The bathrooms are not wheel chair accessible with a set of steep stairs to the bathroom.
