We truly 21st Primary Maths Comp. appreciate being offered the opportunity to join these 22nd Life Education at activities run by the larger schools. Woodstock 23rd STEM 4 TEN at And now some bittersweet Koorawatha PS news (for me, anyway). Lea 23rd District Athletics has been successful in her Carnival—Grenfell application for a short-term position as Budget Support 30th Back Up District Training Officer and begins in her new role from 19th Athletics Carnival August. This is a wonderful opportunity for Lea to 30th STEM 4 TEN at strengthen her skillset, and for other SAMs to have the Koorawatha PS opportunity to work with one of the best. September Congratulations Lea! You absolutely deserve this! The 1st Fathers Day sad part, for me, is that Lea will not be Wyangala Dam 1st Woodstock Show PS SAM for a period of time, and I will miss her very much. I am grateful for all Lea does, and appreciate her 6th STEM 4 TEN at Koorawatha PS kindness and patience in helping me, an absolute novice, to learn the administration side of the Teaching 9th Musica Viva Principal role. I will advise the community of the staff 13th STEM 4 TEN at filling in for Lea when I have finalised their contracts. Koorawatha PS Whilst I am enjoying my few days away, I miss the students and look forward to getting back to work on Monday next week. As always, have a wonderful week! Cheers, Sue Clark Relieving Principal Reminder STEM 4 TEN at Koorawatha Public School every Friday during Term 3 2019. Staff and students need to leave school no later than 8.00am, please ensure you are here , so you don’t miss out ! Wyangala Dam Public School has a mobile phone for excursions, etc. Please only use in case of emergency whilst we are away from school. The number is 0401 614 184 from Mrs Ruth Carter The children, Mrs Clark and myself had a wonderful time at Woodstock last week. We undertook many exciting and interesting tasks to do with STEM (Science, technology, engineering and maths). We experienced coding beebots using tablets and running the beebots through a track. This required the knowledge and use of left and right as well as forwards and backwards. Another robot was used which is called dash. This also involved coding with additional features when compared to the beebots. Coding involving measurement was needed for this robot in order to navigate through a specific course. Lego was a hit with making and coding being combined in these activities. The Lego was called Lego WeDo and Lego EV3. The children were engaged in using laptops to code Microbits and being able to tell the temperature and make flashing light patterns. The virtual reality headgear was in interesting and inspiring activity where children could view many of the world’s sights. These included underwater ocean scenes, the Taj Mahal and the Colosseum.
