Relatório Anual de Atividades 2008 1 FUNDAÇÃO OSESP Concertos A Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo – OSESP apresentou 99 concertos sinfônicos, em 2008, tendo iniciado suas atividades para o público em 06 de março e encerrado a temporada em 31 de dezembro. Os concertos de câmara dos grupos mantidos pela Fundação Osesp, que englobam Câmara, Quartetos, “Um Certo Olhar”, Coro e Convidados, totalizaram 41 apresentações. O público total dos concertos da OSESP (sinfônicos e câmara), na Sala São Paulo, foi de 149,7 mil pessoas em 2008, nem constante crescimento (+ 4,7% sobre 2007; + 25,2% sobre 2006). Real music can be recognized by its soul -- again, like a person. At first sight, music sounds like a language, with its own grammatical and stylistic shades. AWADAGIN PRATT, director Born in Pittsburgh, Awadagin Pratt began studying Tuesday, July 5—Saturday, July 16, 2011 piano at the age of six. Three years later, having Morning sessions: 9:30a.m.-12:00p.m. moved to Normal, Illinois with his family, he also Afternoon Sessions: 1:30p.m.-4:00p.m. began studying violin. At the age of 16 he entered Evening Sessions: 6:30p.m.-9:00p.m. the University of Illinois where he studied piano, violin, and conducting. He subsequently enrolled Robert J. Music : Pyotr Ilyich TCHAIKOVSKY Libretto and choreography : Yuri GRIGOROVICH Musical direction : Pavel KLINICHEV Sets and costumes : Simon VIRSALADZE With the Orchestra of The State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia With the Bolshoi soloists and the Bolshoi Corps de Ballet Choreographer Yuri GRIGOROVICH: After being accepted into the Leningrad Ballet School in 1946, Yuri Grigorovich went on to become a soloist at the Kirov Ballet of St. Petersburg where he stayed until 1962. He joined the Bolshoi Theatre in 1964 and was Artistic Director until 1995. His most famous works are Nutcracker, Spartacus and Ivan the Terrible. History Nutcracker first opened in 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg. It is Tchaikovsky’s last ballet. Composed within one year, its music is certainly one of today's most popular ballet music. For the ballet, Tchaikovsky joined again forces with Marius Petipa, with whom he had collaborated for Sleeping Beauty. Today’s choreographic version, created for the Bolshoi by Yuri Grigorovich is full of romanticism and philosophical reflections on ideal love. It has become one of the greatest classics of the twentieth century and is, with Spartacus and Ivan the Terrible. Synopsis It is Christmas Eve at the house of Mr. and Mrs. Stahlbaum and their children Marie and Fritz. Family and friends have gathered in preparation for the night's festivities. -
