As his th o ughts turn toward the misty ages o o o of the past in search of ancestral kn wledge , he s n finds like himself a wanderer over a trackless desert , utterly lost o n upon the wide domain which he has entered , and as a mirage fades away and disappears befo re his wondering o o vision , so d es much sought for data , elude his m st faith ful research . o Geneal gy , may be compared to a chain , the links of o f which are composed births , marriages and deaths , and as o f a faulty link endangers the strength and security a chain , so a faulty record , impairs the reliability of this endless of l of chain life and death , and although the compi er genealogical statistics desires to be accurate in every detail , o r o f he is more less a victim circumstance , dependent as he o o wh o is upon the accuracy of numerous c rresp ndents , are o m re or less u n i n t e n t i o n ably liable t o erro r . As all sh o uld be interested in the threefo ld phases o f human experience , we deem it advisable to embody in a o co n tangible form , a rec rd of those families , who by o r f o l sanguinity a finity , are m re nearly a lied to us than are we t o others . Only in this way , are enabled to hand down posterity a succinct kno wledge of o u r fo refathers and fore o m thers . o i n o rn With this th ught mind , was this little work c o o piled , and alth ugh it may be f und very imperfect in many o u r n o o — we o respects , o ly ap l gy is , that have d ne the best we could . The name ‘ EMMONS ’ is undoubtedly of English o rigin . Surnames having the same phonetic sound , and o f the appearance being derivatives of the same root , yet f o being entirely di ferent in their orth graphy , are a source of vi THE EMMONS FAMILY I NTRODUCTION much tro uble and uncertainty to the investigator o f gen ea logical records in determining which out of the numerous o catalogue thus enc untered , should be classed as belonging to a particular family . Especially is this the case in tracing ’ the genealogy of the Emmons family in Old England .     USA Shooting NATIONAL OLYMPIC RECORDS As of June 2021 USA Shooting recognizes national records for each ISSF, special event, and developmental events recognized by USA Shooting. For the junior category, records will be recognized for Junior (open), J2, and J3. Senior, Intermediate Senior, and Veteran Senior category records will also be recognized. To be recognized as a national record, the score must be fired in a USA Shooting recognized special or developmental event or an ISSF event in a USA Shooting sanctioned competition. The competition must have been conducted on facilities that meet all technical requirements for distances, timing, etc. The competitor who fired the record score must be a current USA Shooting member and have used only equipment that completely fulfills all requirements for that event as per the General Technical Rules. If equipment control was not conducted at the beginning of the competition, the competition director may conduct a special equipment control to certify that the competitor’s equipment fulfilled these conditions. National records may not be set in leagues or postal competitions. Individual records may be set in those events that contain a minimum of 5 competitors for any event. Any event fired at a reduced distance with reduced distance targets, must follow all requirements of the official event. (i.e. 50-meter events reduced to 50-feet must follow requirements for the 50-meter event.) Team records have been retired. National records will be recognized if the score is fired in an international competition supervised by the ISSF. The competitor must have been a member of the USA Shooting sponsored team for that activity.

If equipment control was not conducted at the beginning of the competition, the competition director may conduct a special equipment control to certify that the competitor’s equipment fulfilled these conditions. National records may not be set in leagues or postal competitions. Individual records may be set in those events that contain a minimum of 5 competitors for any event. Any event fired at a reduced distance with reduced distance targets, must follow all requirements of the official event. (i.e. 50-meter events reduced to 50-feet must follow requirements for the 50-meter event.) Team records have been retired. National records will be recognized if the score is fired in an international competition supervised by the ISSF. The competitor must have been a member of the USA Shooting sponsored team for that activity.

Just like it should, this packet requires a gold-medal-level of knowledge about the Olympics. TOSS UPS 1. American Harvard Law Student James Brendan Connolly mustered a hop, step and jump of over 13 meters, and thus did something that hadn't been done in 1,500 years. (*) His countrymen also fared well - though the host nation accounted for 2/3 of all competitors and were on top of the medal count - though perhaps that's not totally fair since some events did not allow foreigners, like the 100m swim for sailors that was strictly for competitors from the Greek Navy.
