There are some activities in Lawshall in the run up to Christmas and some of the regular clubs may take a break over the holidays— perhaps consider joining in when they are running. A big thank you to all those who have contributed to this magazine this year, regu- lars and occasionals. I could not do it without you. I also want to thank Alex Ford who for the last 3 years has taken each individual page that I sent him and crafted them together into the booklet that you get. He has now stepped down from that and I have had to learn a new way of doing it called “Publisher”. So please forgive me if the boxes are misaligned or anything else does not look as good as before— this is my first edition done in this way. Please keep your stories and ideas coming in and tell your friends and neighbours if you find it useful—I hear that some copies are simply binned. Do let me know what you want to see in here and have a Happy Christmas. Jenna, Editor. Carol singing around Lawshall will take place on Sunday 18th December. Meeting at the Village Hall at 5 pm. New for 2017 Lawshall has a wealth of delightful gardens as well as some that could do with a little care and attention, so I am looking to start up a Lawshall Gardeners’ Club in the new year. This would be a club where gardeners of all levels can get to- gether to swap ideas, plants, seeds and to help each other out with advice and manual assistance where required. It won’t matter if you are brand new to gar- dening or have a wealth of experience. We will arrange guest speakers to visit us, plan trips to visit gardens or exhibitions and possibly even hold an open gar- dens day in the village to raise funds for the club and for nominated charities. If you have an interest in getting involved in the running of such a club, please give me a call and we will meet for a chat. The club would meet in the village hall perhaps 3 or 4 times a year or possibly more if enough interest is shown. So if you have an interest in gardening, would like help to get started or even just want to pass on knowledge to help others, why not give it a try. 1st meeting will be arranged for early March so Watch this space for more details. Keep supporting your village hall by attending some of the other clubs available or by hiring it out for functions. We need your help to stay open. Have a lovely Christmas and a prosperous 2017.
