e miratesagent.at Emirates Rail & Fly © ÖBB Emirates introduces Rail & Fly in Austria We are glad to announce that Emirates has launched an interline agreement with the Austrian Railway Company OEBB. Your customers may now seamlessly combine the Austrian OEBB rail network with the worldwide Emirates network. The cooperation between Emirates and OEBB offers your customers attractive rates and a guaranteed connection to their Emirates flight or OEBB train (see conditions below). The customers can easily depart from any OEBB train station in Austria to more than 150 Emirates destinations on six continents and v.v., making your customers’ travel even more flexible. OEBB offers two types of service to EK passengers: OEBB 2nd class / Economy and OEBB 1st class (note: OEBB Business class is not included). The product can be booked as Rail and Fly as well as Fly and Rail. All long distance domestic trains (railjet, ICE, IC, EC) and live train schedules are published in the GDS under carrier code 9B (the range of OEBB-trains is 9B 8100 – 8799). Bookings on OEBB shall be made in your GDS system using carrier code 9B in the following booking classes: EK Cabin Class 9B Cabin Class 9B Booking Class First First C Business First C Economy Second / Economy Y Emirates Business and First Class passengers receive complimentary access to the OEBB lounges at all major train stations (Wien Hauptbahnhof, Wien Westbahnhof, Wien Meidling, Linz Hauptbahnhof, Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof, Graz Hauptbahnhof, Klagenfurt Hauptbahnhof) in conjunction with their OEBB 1st class ticket. Please find the opening times of the lounges on: http://www.oebb.at/de/leistungen-und-services/am-bahnhof/oebb-lounge The Austrian Rail Network The Austrian OEBB rail network is divided into seven regions and each region has its own main city. Passengers can book their train travel from the seven different main cities to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and v.v. In addition, passengers may also travel on the local railway network within the booked region at no extra cost (see station list below). This means that the passenger may depart from any OEBB train station within the region to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and v.v. The regions of OEBB are different to the federal states of Austria. Please check the exact region of the particular train station in the station list. Main city of Railway Region the region Station Code 1. Vorarlberg Bregenz XGZ 2. Styria + Burgenland (South) Graz GGZ 3. Tyrol (North) Innsbruck IOB 4. Carinthia + Tyrol (East) Klagenfurt KGV 5. Upper Austria Linz LZS 6. Salzburg Salzburg ZSB 7. Lower Austria + Burgenland (North) St. Pölten POK Validity of OEBB rail-boarding-pass The OEBB rail-boarding-pass is booked and issued for a particular train connection from the main city of the region to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and v.v. The details of the booked train connection are shown on the Emirates booking and later on the OEBB rail-boarding-pass. Notes: . Bookings from Graz or Klagenfurt to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and v.v. might require a change of the train at Wien Hauptbahnhof. In this case, the sector between Vienna International Airport (VIE) and Wien Hauptbahnhof will always be included in the OEBB rail-boarding-pass. The route of travel is also indicated on the OEBB rail-boarding- pass. Ticket is only valid on OEBB trains (except night trains – EN Euro Night) . Travelling only from Vienna main station to Vienna International Airport (VIE) is not possible. Fares vary depending on the region and are filed in the GDS system as through-fares from/to the main city of the region. If you have any questions concerning Rail&Fly, do not hesitate to contact us on [email protected] or +43 1 532 60 28 200. Full flexibility: The OEBB rail-boarding-pass may also be used on the following trains within the ticket validity: . Alternative trains from the booked main city to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and v.v. Trains from any OEBB train station within the booked region to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and v.v. For example, a passenger with a booking from St. Pölten (POK) to Vienna International Airport (VIE) may also travel from Wr. Neustadt to Vienna International Airport (VIE) without actually passing by St. Pölten. Wr. Neustadt is in the same region as St. Pölten and therefore the OEBB rail-boarding-pass is also valid on this route. Important: The actually selected train has to arrive at Vienna International Airport (VIE) before or at least at the same time as the originally booked train. In case of misconnections to the outbound EK flight due to a train delay, passengers will be rebooked on the first available flight only for delays of the booked train (as shown on the Emirates Booking) and trains with an earlier or equal estimated arrival time at Vienna International Airport (VIE) as the booked train. Example: Rail&Fly Salzburg (ZSB) -> Vienna (VIE) -> Dubai (DXB) This routing will include a particular train connection from the main city Salzburg to Vienna International Airport (VIE). In addition, approx. 60 railway stations within the region may be used to reach Vienna International Airport (VIE). Therefore, a passenger could travel from Eben im Pongau via Salzburg Hauptbahnhof to Vienna International Airport (VIE) with one OEBB rail-boarding-pass for ZSB-VIE. Stopovers in Vienna: Passengers starting their journey from Austria (eg POK – DXB) A stop at the Vienna main train station (Wien Hauptbahnhof) is possible at no extra cost within the validity of the OEBB rail-boarding-pass: . Rail feeders for flights departing from VIE: The ticket is valid on a single trip to Vienna International Airport (VIE) on the booked train travel date as well as the day before. Rail feeders for flights arriving at VIE: The ticket is valid on a single trip from Vienna International Airport (VIE) on the booked train travel date as well as the day afterwards. For example, if a passenger has booked POK-VIE on April 2nd (and then travels to DXB on EK on the same day), the ticket will be valid on April 2nd and April 1st for a single trip from POK to VIE on the booked train, any other train operated by OEBB on POK-VIE on these dates or any other OEBB train connection within the booked region to VIE on these dates. If you have any questions concerning Rail&Fly, do not hesitate to contact us on [email protected] or +43 1 532 60 28 200. Passengers starting their journey outside of Europe (eg SYD – ZSB) If the fare rules from the local market allow stopovers in Europe, Rail&Fly passengers can enjoy a stopover in Vienna on their journey through Austria. For example, passengers may travel from Sydney to Vienna on 13 September, stay in Vienna until 17 September and then travel onwards to Salzburg on 24 September. Eligibility The Rail & Fly product is available to all EK revenue passengers on EK online routes where through-fares have been filed in MARS/GDS. Groups, Skywards reward bookings and OAL FFP tickets are not permitted. Not available for staff tickets and PEP tickets. Child / infant discounts permitted (for discount levels consult your GDS). Minimum Connecting Time Vienna International Airport (VIE) Rail/Air: 01:30Hrs Air/Rail: 01:15Hrs Ticketing The Rail & Fly segment has to be issued in conjunction with EK flight segments (e.g. POK-DXB). Ticketing Timelimit As per international fare conditions. Check-In for the train segment Passengers ticketed to travel on OEBB must check-in prior to boarding any train. Check-in is possible within 72 hours before the departure of the booked OEBB connection (as shown on the Emirates Booking). There are two options to check-in and obtain your OEBB rail-boarding-pass: 1. Web-Check-In on https://check-in.accesrail.com . Please present the printed or electronic OEBB rail-boarding-pass on board of the train with an ID-Card. 2. OEBB-Reisezentrum (ticket office) . This option is not available at all train stations. No boarding without check-in. Passengers have to check-in for the Emirates flight and OEBB train separately. Important: The Emirates Online-Check-In is not available for Rail & Fly passengers departing from Vienna International Airport (VIE). Passenger must check-in at the airport. However, advance seat reservation is available. If you have any questions concerning Rail&Fly, do not hesitate to contact us on [email protected] or +43 1 532 60 28 200. Baggage OEBB will honour EK baggage allowance on its trains. However, bags will not be through checked by OEBB onto EK or vice versa. The passengers are responsible for the carriage of their bags both onto and off the train. During the rail travel all luggage is carried by and with the passenger. No check-in is required for luggage on the rail segment. Luggage racks are situated over the seats and in the corridors. Re-booking / Cancellation of train segments Standard EK ticketing policy applies as per the booked EK fare rules.
