DARRELL HAMMOND & JUDY GOLD HEADLINE 2ND ANNUAL COMEDY FOR A CAUSE BENEFITTING REED ACADEMY AT TERMINAL 5 ON JUNE 9TH

GARFIELD, NJ (May 4, 2010) – REED Academy, a not for profit school serving children with autism based in Garfield, New Jersey, is proud to present the 2nd annual Comedy for a Cause event headlined by Saturday Day Night Live alum Darrell Hammond and Emmy award‐winning actress & comedienne Judy Gold. Comedy for a Cause will take place on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 7:30pm at Terminal 5 in . The benefit evening will help to raise money necessary to continue REED Academy’s critical work. Darrell Hammond was a cast member on from 1995 until 2009, holding the record for the longest consecutive tenure of any SNL cast member in the show's history. He is known for his genius impressions of former President , , John McCain and , to name a few. In 2009, Darrell had a guest starring role on the drama Damages on FX. Judy Gold is best known for her critically acclaimed off‐Broadway hit 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother. She was a writer and producer on The Rosie O’Donnell Show and is a frequent guest and co‐host on ABC’s The View. Judy is currently a cast member in the Broadway show in Love, Loss and What I Wore, based on a short collection of stories by Nora and Delia Ephron. All proceeds from the evening will benefit REED Academy. With 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys currently being diagnosed with autism each year, one of the greatest challenges is finding an appropriate educational program. REED Academy provides an individualized full‐day school program, approved by the New Jersey Department of Education, and provides family consultation services and parent training. The school is currently housed in New Life Bible Church in Garfield and will begin construction in the fall of 2010 on a permanent facility in Oakland, New Jersey. ABOUT REED ACADEMY REED Academy provides highly individualized, scientifically based, state‐of‐the art intervention for children with autism aged 2 through 21. REED stands for Resources for Effective Educational Development.
