Summary This document lists the historic (closed) and current (open) stream gauging stations which make up the Department of Natural Resources and Mines river height and streamflow monitoring network. Data collected at stream gauging stations are published on the department’s Water Monitoring Information Portal. Other data types are also collected at stream gauging stations (including rainfall and water quality). Further information is available on the Water Monitoring Information Portal under each station listing. WMG001 | version 4.0, Department of Natural Resources and Mines, 2016 i Table of contents 1. Stream gauging station index The department’s stream gauging stations are operated by trained hydrographic staff within a quality management environment under International Organisation for Standardisation ISO 9001:2008 accreditation. Streamflow measurements are an integral part of producing volumetric data at gauging stations. Stream gaugings are taken throughout a full range of low and high flow conditions to enable derivation of accurate streamflow volumes. A list of current, operational gauging stations is detailed in the Stream Gauging Station Network. Please also refer to document this for a summary of the background and objectives of department’s streamflow monitoring network. Data collected from the Stream Gauging Station Network is published on the department’s Water Monitoring Information Portal, where near real time and historical data has been available to the public online since January 2008. 2. Description of index headings Station | the stream gauging station unique identifier. The numbering system is based on Australian Water Resource Council drainage basin numbering comprised of seven (7) numbers and one (1) letter. Station name | the description of the stream gauging stations location. Office | the departmental office operating the stream gauging station: Ayr (AYR) Bundaberg (BBG) Mareeba (MBA) Rockhampton (RCK) Brisbane (BNE) Innisfail (INF) Mackay (MKY) Toowoomba (TBA) Latitude (°S) and Longitude (°E) | the coordinates of the stream gauging station location. Details are given in degrees to 4 decimal places, although accuracy to this level is not guaranteed. Datum | the vertical elevation standards: Australian Height Datum (AHD) Assumed Datum (ASS) Brisbane City Council Datum (BCC) Burdekin River Datum (BRD) Mount Isa Mines Datum (MIM) No Applicable Data (NAD) State Datum (SD) AMTD | the Adopted Middle Thread Distance, in kilometres. This relates to the distance along the middle of the river upstream from its mouth (or junction). Catchment area | the catchment above the stream gauging station, in square kilometres. Commenced | the date the stream gauging station opened. Station type | the data type collected at the site G indicates time series flow data are collected at the site. GQ indicates both time series flow and water quality data are collected at the site. Height data / Flow data / Rainfall data / TS WQ data | indicates the data available at a gauging station (e.g. steam height, stream discharge, rainfall data and time series water quality data). WMG001 | version 4.0, Department of Natural Resources and Mines, 2016 iii 3. Queensland drainage basins This map shows the Queensland drainage basin numbering used in the stream gauging station numbering system. 4. Feedback We welcome your feedback! • Lower Cretaceous Fossils from the Sources of the Barcoo, Ward And
LOWER CRETACEOUS FOSSILS FROM THE SOURCE8 OF THE BARCOO, WARD AND NIV E RIVERS SOUTH OENTRAL QUEENSLA~D. PART II.l-CEPHALOPODA. By R. ETHERIDGE, JUNR., Curator. (Plates xxx.-xlix., and Fig. 8.) I.-IN'l'RODUC'l'ION. The" Ammonites" proper contained in Mr. H. \V. Blomfield's collection are few in nnmber', and will be noticed in a later part of this Memoir. The following descriptions of the "Crioceri" are offered with a considerable amsmnt of diffidence, and to arrive at these results I found it impemtive to undertake a general review of our Cretaceous forms hitherto associated with the names CTioceras and Ancylocera8; the outcome of this work, extending over many months, is t~ my mind, I regret to say, anything but satisfactory. This arises from two primary causes, the frag mentary state in which the fossils are frequently found, and the difficulty experienced in grouping ~uch portions, from many and "widely separated localities, in well dlefined species. A secondary cause is due to the fact that many of the hitherto described forms are based on portions of shells only, and in two instances at least the descriptions are so inadequate that recognition of the species is practically reduced to gue~s work. In no instance is this more apparent than in that of Cl·iocemB australe, Moore, the Australian type of the group. To render my investigations as complete as possible, I assembled all the specimens of the above two genera within my reach, and drew upon the following collections, as well as onr own :-The Mining and Geological, and Macleay Museums, ~ydney; National Museum, Melbourne; Geological Survey, and Queensland Museums, Brisbane; Geological Survey Collection, Adelaide; and the Sweet Collection, Melbourne.
