Haak, Joan Helen 1946-2009 Published Thursday, September 24, 2009 No service is planned for Joan Helen Haak, 61, of Decatur. Haak died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, in Decatur. She was born March 29, 1946, in Chicago to William Eugene and Helen Marie (Alcumbrac) Haak. She is survived by family and friends. Hachtel, Yvonne Hunt 1921-2009 Published Thursday, June 18, 2009 Graveside service for Yvonne Hunt Hachtel, 87, of Bowie, formerly of Decatur, was June 16 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur with David Hall officiating. Hachtel died Friday, June 12, 2009, in Bowie. Born Dec. 31, 1921, in Frederick, Okla., to Thurman and Jewell (Todd) Hunt, she graduated from Lang High School in Oklahoma in 1939 and was an all-state basketball player. She played semi-professional softball. In February 1950, she married Herman Hachtel in Bowie and worked as a bookkeeper for Bennett Oil Co. and Bowie Industries. She was the first woman elected to the Bowie City Council. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Hugh Hunt; and sisters, Maurice McKinley and Marylin Coulson. She is survived by her sons, Gary Hachtel and Jimmy Hachtel, both of Bowie; sister, Judy Mullins and husband, Ben, of Montgomery; grandchildren, Lyndon Hachtel of Wichita Falls, Dylan Hachtel of Corpus Christi and Garrett Hachtel and Dustin Hachtel of Bowie; and nieces and nephews. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Christian-Hawkins Chapel with Rick Cooper officiating. Visitation was to be 2 to 3 p. m. Wednesday. Hagerud died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, in Boyd. Born Aug. 3, 1946, in Quanah to Waukene and Pauline (Goolsby) Foster, she was a retired bookkeeper for B-Square. She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Ramirez and husband, Eduardo, of Wills Point; son, Brent Hagerud and wife, Jackie, of Euless; granddaughter, Gracie Hagerud; mother of Decatur; sister, Judith Tabor of Boyd; and numerous other relatives. Hale, Darrell L. ‘Tiny’ 1952-2009 Published Sunday, September 13, 2009 Funeral for Darrell L. "Tiny" Hale, 57, of Runaway Bay was to be at 2 p. m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Va Rite and Rob Hawkins officiating. Burial was to follow at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Hale died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009. Born March 23, 1952, in Borger to Tom William and Wilma Leone (Brooks) Hale, he married Joan Sander Sept. 7, 1974, in Garden City, Kan. He was a truck driver for Shale Tank Truck in Jacksboro and a former chief of the Runaway Bay Volunteer Fire Department. He worked for many years in corrections in Kansas and Texas and was a police officer in Newton, Kan. He also hunted and fished. He is survived by his wife; sons, Shane Hale of Rosharon and Shaun Hale and wife, Dawn, of Springtown; grandchildren, Joshua and Christopher Hale, Misten Kittrell, Felicity, Cheyanne and Autum Hale, Devon Miller, and Hunter and Conner Hale; father, Tom Hale, and Shirley, of Carlsbad, N. M. ; sisters, Toni and Michelle Hale; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbeareres were to be Charlie Grill, James Stroud, Dan Matzinger, Warren Wade, Randy Adams, Greg Ayers, Cody Ayers and Frank Van Laeys. Harris graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1950 and was an electrical engineer.
