Every spring, we shift our focus from snow and ice removal to the construction and repair of our roadways. Improvement of the highway network is a positive and necessary responsibility. By improving traffic flow, ODOT provides a smooth, safe and efficient ride for travel and commerce in the region. The 2010 Construction Guide includes major construction projects in the District 12, three-county area. Projects to which ODOT has contributed money but are administered by local agencies are listed at the back of the book. Projects with funding by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus funds are marked with an orange construction sign. As with every construction season, we ask motorists to use caution when traveling through work zones. By obeying posted speed limits and exercising caution, motorists can do their part to keep both our construction employees and fellow motorists safe. Minor operations will continue through approximately June 2011 with little or no impacts to traffic. IMPA C T : Fulton Road is closed through the spring of 2010. Motorists are detoured via Denison Ave., Pearl Rd. and Memphis Ave. The entrance to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo by way of Fulton Parkway is open. Minor operations will continue through approximately June 2010 with little or no impacts to traffic. IMPA C T : The West 77th Street Bridge is closed. Motorists are detoured for the duration of the project via West 74th Street. IMPA C T : One lane of traffic in each direction – as well as the Ontario Street ramp to I-90 westbound and West 14th Street ramp to I-90 east- bound – have reopened. Heavy truck traffic in the eastbound direction only remains detoured via I-77 and I-490 in order to increase traffic flow efficiencies. Steel repairs will continue through the fall of 2010.
