My aim was to attempt to ‘get inside the head of an artist whilst he painted’. This was a fascinating experience, where I could almost feel the paint being applied and the creative emotion flowing onto his canvas. Martin is a brilliant artist – in this work he painted a section of the hull of the partially restored SS John Oxley, calling it Peeling Away Time.
