  • Tring Team Parish Profile for Part Time Team Vicar 2016
Tring Team Parish Profile for part time Team Vicar 2016 Tring Team Parish General Information Summary The Tring Team Parish consists of five churches on the edge of the Chilterns. Tring itself is a market town of 14,000 with the church of St Peter and St Paul, and there are four village churches: All Saints, Long Marston; St Cross, Wilstone; St Mary’s, Puttenham; and St John the Baptist, Aldbury, all of which have a modern liberal outlook, but worship in a wide range of styles. As a parish we have been working with Tring School over a number of years as a central part of our mission. The school has 1,500 students of whom very few come from a worshipping background. This puts us in an interesting place where there is genuine crossover between the church and the secular world, with new insights and challenges coming from this dynamic. This is central to our mission and we are working out how to engage with new families whilst keeping faith with those who have grown up in the church. We are located in the Chilterns in an area of outstanding natural beauty, where Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire meet as the Chiltern Hills merge into the Vale of Aylesbury. The A41 links to the M25 eleven minutes away and the frequent train service Tring Station to Euston making the area a very successful and extremely buoyant residential location. There is much encouraging activity happening in our churches and many things to celebrate. We have some huge congregations across the Team (c6,500 attending all Christmas services, 800+ people in our

Contact Details The foundations of this Community Plan are the responses from residents of Chorleywood to a questionnaire circulated to every household in the Parish. A Committee comprising representatives of the main community organisations within Chorleywood has analysed these responses and compiled this report. The main issues and concerns highlighted by residents are: • Protection of our open spaces and green environment • Lack of adequate parking facilities in the shopping area • Lack of diversity of shops and businesses in the village • Üóèèçìñê÷õäĦæòñïòæäïõòäçö • Öäìñ÷äìñìñêèģèæ÷ìùèóïäññìñêæòñ÷õòïöæòñöìçèõìñê the local demographics. • Senior school admissions policies Ýëìöçòæøðèñ÷öè÷öòø÷öóèæìĤæ÷òóìæö÷òåèìñùèö÷ìêä÷èçäñç allocates them to local organisations who have agreed to accept responsibility for follow-through. A Community Plan is a document setting out achievable aims and visions for the future of a community, based upon the views of its residents gathered through survey, research and community participation. The Localism Act 2011 gave communities a greater say in the development of their area. In October 2013, the Parish Council decided to use the powers of the Localism Act along with wider-reaching aims and objectives covering other aspects of community life, to produce a Community Plan and Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for Chorleywood. A Steering Group, led by the Parish Council, was formed from a large number of community-interest groups.

Our response, which begins on the following page, starts with an overall summary of our position on the draft local plan, and then gives more detail with regard to particular sections, policies and proposals (referenced and in plan order). Each element indicates whether our statement is in support, objection or as a comment. We did not find either the online portal or the downloadable pro forma to be conducive to an effective response, and we trust that this will be acceptable. There is much to be commended about the plan, but we also have serious reservations. We are, however, strongly supportive of the council taking steps to continue progressing with consultation on the plan in these difficult times. It is essential to have an up-to-date plan in place at all times for the sustainable management of development in an area with such a potent combination of development pressures, regeneration aspirations and a sensitive environment. The council is to be commended for the steps it has taken to give stakeholders as much of an opportunity to comment on the current proposals as it can under the current circumstances.

  • Newsletter November 1984
November 1984 Some days you win 1. The events and activities programme each year has covered a remarkably varied range of subjects. The program is a tradition and the Association's contribution to the social / cultural life of the Town. The support it gets is also remarkably diverse and unpredictable. Some events have had satisfyingly large audiences, others the reverse. We just have to take it in our stride and try, difficult as it is, to maintain the variety and calibre of speakers. It is the same with the rambles - always a feature of our annual programme with New Year, Easter and Autumn being the occasions for an organised potter round a different corner of our countryside. The Autumn Ramble is nearly always the best because of the colours in the trees. Three weekends before and one weekend after the 'Sunday of our Ramble', were each sunny and warm. On the day, however, it rained. You can't win them all! 2. But don't miss this The talk by Richard Page M.P. was well attended and an interesting evening, with lots of questions. Our thanks have been Given to Richard for giving us his time, particularly on a Friday evening of a precious weekend, Our next event promises to be equally but differently interesting. Mr Charles Driver - Headmaster of Berkhamsted School will talk on 'Justifying the Future' on Thursday 29 November at 8pm at the Sessions Hall. Friday 14 December at 8pm at the Sessions Hall is the date and time of our winter social gathering - to sing carols and sip a glass of wine (or two) together with Mince pies.
