The Cottage was built around 1940. The total living area is about 80 m2 The building substance is in good condition, not least because of thoroughly done restorations. Being a little more specific… Numerous lakes in the vicinity of Dungloe, as well as the high sea fishing grounds of the Atlantic Ocean “in the backyard” of the cottage offer an extensive variety of sport fishing. The above particulars are issued by this office on the understanding that all negotiations are conducted through this office. Every care is taken in preparing particulars but this firm does not hold itself responsible for any inaccuracies. All reasonable offers will be submitted to the vendors. SLIGO TEL/FAX 00353-71-9163284 email [email protected] WEB: www.irishproperties.com A hilly countryside with lots of embedded lakes, deep-green meadows taking turns with vast regions of wasteland, challenges bikers and backtrackers. The pleasing little town of Dungloe is rather well equipped with it’s supermarkets “Super Value”, “Aldi”, “Lidl” and “The Cope”. A well-kept “Local Hospital” provides doctor’s help if necessary. A public library, quite e few shops, comfy pubs and restaurants offer a little entertainment. And yes, there is even a little Airport around. Carrick Finn (CFN) offers a daily flights. It takes about 25 minutes driving time to get from the Airport to the Cottage. Distance between the cottage and downtown Dungloe is around 8 Km Yellow-blooming GORSE (ulex europaeus) lines the last mile of gravel road to the cottage. An authentic maritime light buoy as “garden lamp” in front of the cottage The cottage in particular. Most probably the little house was erected around 1940. Solid stonewalls of some 50 cm thickness and the well-established, storm proofed technique of slate roofing prevented the cottage from being deteriorated over the time. When the today’s owner took over in 1982, a period of frequent refurbishing works started. Repairs were done, where necessary, re-erections and extensions were carried out, where basic requirements demanded solutions or promised a little more comfort. For instance – a tumbledown henhouse was rebuilt and converted into a bath room, while one each porch on the front- and rear side of the cottage was built newly. While the front side porch is primarily functioning as a wind breaker on stormy days, keeping unwanted draft out of the living room, the porch on the backside (seaside) of the cottage turned out to be the right place for the galley. An enjoyable place to peel potatoes and sizzling burgers, because every time you make a little break and look through the large glass-panes of the XXL-windows, you`re rewarded by a breathtaking panorama-view across the site, all the way down to the beaches and the sea. Heating of the living area is accomplished by three different fire places: A convection-oven in the bedroom, a back-boiler-range with linked radiators, using the return flow out of the radiators for floor heating (living room) and another back-boiler-range is used in the kitchen room, mainly for cooking purpose, while residual heat from the back-boiler is servicing attached radiators as well. All fire places are working on solid fuel, like turf (peat) timber and coal. Supply-connections to public services: Electricity - Electricity supply is provided by a single phase, 230V ac / 15 amp – connection. Water - The above particulars are issued by this office on the understanding that all negotiations are conducted through this office. SLIGO TEL/FAX 00353-71-9163284 email [email protected] WEB: www.irishproperties.com The house-water system was deliberately not connected to the public supply line. Even though, the public water supply hose runs along the cottage in just some 20 meters distance and a connection could have been made easily, it was decided not to “depend” on this public service. Irish predecessors used rainwater since ever. So did the present owner for 35 years. Actually, roof-collected rain water, scalded, was used for cooking as well, without any troubles. A weather-protected Workshop & Store. Although this room neighbors the living room, it was blocked for restauration ever since. This, because the “all inclusive” restoration job demanded a place for a workbench, sufficient space to deposit tools and the bunkering of solid fuel required a dry place. Front Porch with solid mahogany sliding-door at main entrance (to the left) and a little storehouse (right hand side) for the main rainwater tank. Price Guide: €220.000 View by appointment with sole selling agents only Energy Rating G Last but not least – plenty of “Landscape” around the Cottage. Nearby cliffs. • Report of Government Alcohol Advisory Group
Report of the Government Alcohol Advisory Group, 31 March 2008 Report of the Government Alcohol Advisory Group Summary of recommendations In January 2008, the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform announced his intention to bring forward proposals for changes in the law on the public order aspects of the sale and consumption of alcohol with a view to enacting the required legislative changes before the summer recess. He also announced the establishment of the Government Alcohol Advisory Group and said that he had asked it to examine the following key issues and to report to him with their assessment on the best way forward by 31 March 2008: o the increase in the number of supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations with off-licences and the manner and conditions of sale of alcohol products in such outlets, including below unit-cost selling and special promotions; o the increasing number of special exemption orders which permit longer opening hours which are being obtained by licensed premises around the country; and o the use, adequacy and effectiveness of existing sanctions and penalties, particularly those directed towards combating excessive and under-age alcohol consumption. The recommendations which follow are intended to respond to these terms of reference. The Group expects that certain of these recommendations will provide the basis for the urgent reforms which the Minister intends to implement in the short term. Structural reform of the licensing system is more likely to be addressed in the context of the forthcoming Sale of Alcohol Bill which is included in the Government Legislation Programme for 2008.

The entire site extends to approximately 5.7 hectares (14 acres) and is laid out over three tiers/levels with a series of buildings including the former St Kevin's Hospital, St Dympna's Hospital, St Kevin's Church and number of out buildings totalling approximately 8,300 sq. m. This link provides direct access to the city centre to east and to Wellington Bridge to the west, situated below the site, as well as University College Cork and its Mardyke Arena to the south (see Figure 1.1). There are also a number of internal roads on the site providing access to the various buildings, but the original secondary access to the complex from the south west of the site is no longer usable, as the adjoining Our Lady’s Hospital complex is now in separate ownership.
