Joy /Providence Network Program Overview

Providence Network (PN) has been providing transitional housing for over 30 years and currently operates six homes; 3 FirstStep homes and 3 NextStep homes. We are a Christian community for those seeking recovery and long-term change. The mission of our two-year transitional program is to provide an atmosphere of love, and accountability where each person may pursue goals toward self-sufficiency. We believe a person is healed from the inside out and that it is necessary to address any difficulties you have experienced so you can overcome them to lead a healthy, productive life. Therefore, our holistic program provides individual counseling, group therapy, spiritual growth, vocational assistance and life skills development.

OPENINGS AND ORIENTATIONS If you or someone you know is interested in the program, the first step is to attend an orientation to learn about the program, complete an application, and schedule an interview. Call 303.863.8368 to hear a recorded message about openings and details for the next orientation if one is scheduled. We do not keep a wait list. There are no specific requirements or documents needed to attend orientation. Participants can simply show up at orientation—there is no need to call ahead.

QUALIFICATIONS Ø Women pregnant or with 1-3 children, depending on apartment size available. Ø If someone is in a domestic violence relationship, they must have already escaped their abuser and have been in a safe house or other safe living arrangement for at least 30-days. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER ORIENTATION • Participants are invited to submit an application and schedule an interview with the live-in staff. Interviews are conducted within a week of the orientation. • After the interview, background checks are ordered to ensure compliance with city ordinances. • After the interview and background check, staff will let each applicant know whether or not they have been accepted into the program. • If accepted, a pre-move in meeting is scheduled to tour the Joy House property, see their assigned apartment unit, review the full program agreement and prepare for move-in. Move-in usually happens 2-3 days after the pre-move in meeting. • A tuberculosis test is required prior to move in. A referral letter for the TB clinic is given to orientation participants. • If a participant is not accepted, they can try again at our next orientation. We do not keep a waiting list unless we know that more openings will be available within a month or two.
