PERFORMANCE MASTERLCASS WITH LUCIE JONES About the project Join West End star Lucie Jones (Waitress, RENT, Legally Blonde) for the day as she provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – to coach you personally on a song of your choice, which you will then perform that evening in front of your family and friends. As well as coaching you through the day, Lucie will host the evening concert, whilst also performing a few songs of her own. Dates GENEVA: Saturday 21st November – 11.30am – 8.30pm ZURICH: Sunday 22nd November – 11.30am – 8.30pm The concert will begin at 7.00pm on both days. How to get involved This experience is limited to only 12 students per venue, to ensure that everyone has the attention that they deserve from Lucie! To apply, you need you fill in our application form and submit a video of you singing the song you would like to work on. This can be musical theatre or pop. You also need to tell us what you would like to gain from this experience. We will then make a selection and inform you of our decision. If you are unsuccessful on this occasion, we will give you our reasons – but don’t worry – there will be similar opportunities in the future. Applications need to be received by 26th October and you will be notified by 2nd November of our decision. The cost The cost to take part in this special one-day workshop is 150chf. This will include 2 free tickets to the performance at the end of the day. Apply now To apply, head to www.simplytheatre.com/specialevents ABOUT LUCIE JONES Award winning actor and solo artist Lucie Jones first came to prominence when she reached the finals of ITV’s “The X Factor” in 2009. Quickly winning the hearts of the nation, she became a household name to the millions of viewers who supported her and watched her perform week after week. Following the TV show, Lucie embarked upon the 56 date national arena tour with her fellow contestants performing to sell out crowds. Lucie is a lead vocalist on the number 1 single “You are not alone” recorded by the 2009 x factor finalists. Since then, Lucie has performed all over the world as a solo artist and in many Musical Theatre productions, for which she has been widely reviewed as a top tier, one of a kind actor. Lucie most recently played the coveted role of Jenna Hunterson in Waitress the Musical at London’s Adelphi Theatre. Lucie was offered the role of Jenna after impressing the creative team at her audition, a panel that including multi grammy nominee, Tony Awards host and Waitress composer Sara Bareilles. Lucie won 3 awards for her performance in Waitress, including the audience voted for Westend Wilma award for Best Actress in a musical. The audiences at the Adelphi fell in love with Lucie and her take on the role has had 5 star reviews across the board. Some of the other roles Lucie is best know for include Maureen in RENT (The Other Palace and UK tour), Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (Leicester curve ,UK tour and South Korea Opera House, where she won the DIMF “Best Actress in a Musical” award for her performance), Cosette in Les Miserables (London Queens Theatre and the 25th anniversary concert at London’s o2 arena), Victoria in American Psycho (London Almeida Theatre), Molly in Ghost (International tour), Emily in Alan Menken’s A Christmas Carol (London Lyceum Theatre), Lou in Girlfriends (London Musical Theatre Orchestra), Meatloaf in We Will Rock You (World arena tour) and Holly in The Wedding Singer (UK tour). Lucie has also acted on screen and her catalogue of work includes roles in shows including Midsomer Murders and The Sarah Jane Adventures. In 2017 Lucie was approached by a panel of record label executives and BBC producers to take part in the UK live televised final of Eurovision- you decide for a chance to represent the United Kingdom at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Lucie was delighted to win the public vote and subsequently released her first solo single and music video for her song “I will Never Give up on You”. Lucie performed at the Live Final to a worldwide audience of over 300million viewers. The result, as voted for by the rest of the world, was the best result the UK has had in 15 years. Lucie has recently performed a solo, sell-out West End concert at London’s Adelphi Theatre with the London Musical Theatre Orchestra. The concert was recorded for a live album which will be available to buy and stream very soon. .
