This is an exercise in not only wine quality but house style, style evolution and ageability. To view a region through the prism of three vintages is an instructive exercise and the wines on the bench guided us well! Robust discussion of five shortlisted wines led us to a taste off between two – a white and a red. All wonderful wines of their variety and vintage and progression through maturity. Glory to Barossa. 1 Peter Lehmann Wines 2016 Wigan Riesling Shortlisted 2012 Wigan Riesling Shortlisted 2002 Wigan Riesling Shortlisted 2 St Hallett 2017 Eden Valley Riesling 2012 Eden Valley Riesling 2002 Eden Valley Riesling 3 The Yalumba Wine Company 2016 Pewsey Vale Vineyard The Contours Riesling 2012 Pewsey Vale Vineyard The Contours Riesling 2002 Pewsey Vale Vineyard The Contours Riesling 4 Forbes Wine Co 2016 Eden Valley Single Vineyard Riesling 2008 Eden Valley Single Vineyard Riesling 2002 Eden Valley Single Vineyard Riesling 5 Burge Family Winemakers 2017 Olive Hill Semillon 2012 Olive Hill Semillon 2002 Olive Hill Semillon 6 Peter Lehmann Wines 2016 Margaret Semillon 2011 Margaret Semillon 2002 Margaret Semillon 1 St Hallett 2015 Blackwell Shiraz 2010 Blackwell Shiraz 1995 Blackwell Shiraz 2 Peter Lehmann Wines 2014 Stonewell Shiraz Shortlisted 2010 Stonewell Shiraz Shortlisted 1999 Stonewell Shiraz Shortlisted 3 Burge Family Winemakers 2015 Draycott Shiraz 2005 Draycott Shiraz 2000 Draycott Shiraz 4 Langmeil Winery 2014 The Freedom 1843 Shiraz 2010 The Freedom 1843 Shiraz 1998 The Freedom 1843 Shiraz BAROSSA WINE SHOW 2017 7 RESULTS CATALOGUE 41st Barossa Wine Show 2017 Wines of Provenance Results A pleasure5 Saltram to judge Wine the Estate Provenance Class2014 for theSaltram second No.1 year!
